Drove my TV about 450 miles with the TT hooked up coming back home from FL panhandle. Weather sucked for the most part, so figured I might as well be home in crappy weather. LOL, well not really laughing since I have to winterize the darn TT again and prepare for single digit weather in the forecast.

Eventually these will be gray body color. Still much to do with prep and the paint gun.

Been looking the vehicle over for a camping trip to AZ. Long story short is the 7.3 leaks oil! The last couple days I have removed and resealed the high-pressure oil pump, the turbo pedestal seals. A few weeks ago I pulled the transmission out and replaced the torque converter and seal. I don't like oil leaks and this new to me 7.3 had a few.

Had the same issue. Leak from tranny taken care of but still have a tiny one from oil drain plug. Will fix that on next oil change. What year’s your 7.3?

Mines the early 99. So it has smaller injectors, a smaller turbo, and a few other smaller things. After this camping season comes to an end I might look at doing a late 99 conversion from Riff Raff.

Thanks! I really don't like chrome on trucks and hate the extreme amount the manufacturers are using these days. I hope the gray grille will tone it down to where I can stand it. The bumpers would certainly be a tougher job.

Today I readjusted the ball angle on my EZ Lift WDH. Why? I noticed my trailer release was a hard to unlatch and took a closer look at the ball mount plate. It was bent about 1/2 an inch. So, I loosened the top and banged it slightly more level with the truck. Sent some inquiries to Camco, EZ lift owners, and customer service has hotel uniform alpha. I think it is automated response with someones name on it. I'll run it and check it. Reason for bend? Dealer install and not paralleling ball mount head with square stock face. It is now parallel.

Heading to the car wash, to de-salt the poor thing. This is the first warm day in a VERY long time.

I did the same thing with my F150. Too bad it will get filthy again going to work.

My old Ram is still left dirty. It's going in for inspection and some electrical work tomorrow. Hoping to have it back by mid week.

Back out in the shop on the old 7.3. Finished up on my oil leaks! Installed some gauges so I have an idea on what's going on.

My Isspro EGT gauge took a dump in my '07 after 12 years. I'll get to it after the weather gets a little warmer.

I haven't installed it yet...it's taking up valuable space in the garage! I got a brand new Ranch Hand Legend series bumper with the front hitch receiver brand new for $425 while I was down in the Houston area last month. I haven't seen it for less than $1,200 new. A nice older fellow purchased it for his Ram truck & went and had a heart attack, so he sold the truck...he was a really nice guy! Eventually I'll get around to installing it and I'll take some pics for y'all.

Edit: I think the hardest part will be incorporating the front parking sensors from what I hear.

Awesome!! A few years ago you could get them from Ranch Hand directly in Boerne Tx for less than $800, I moved north and I can’t find them for less than about $2,000 due to shipping and dealer mark-up. Unfortunately I didn’t buy one while I was in Texas.

So I was talking to the DW earlier today about the latest recall for Ram trucks concerning the nuts and the steering linkage. I just came inside from the garage and told my wife that my nuts were nice and tight. My oldest daughter proceeded to spit her soda all over the kitchen floor!

Just thought I'd share with y'all that my nuts are good and tight too!

Ok, duly noted Dan. I think that we can all move on from here

Speaking of that recall, is it just me or are you a little uneasy about having that jam nut welded on if they find it out of torque spec. Seems to me that is a fix that we would do on an old beater truck, not someones $50+K truck being serviced by the dealer.
