In Australia they call those "Roo Bars". But that descriptive would not be politically correct in this country!

Like yours, mine has to go to the dealer too to have the park sensors reset. Hopefully it’s just that and I don’t need a new harness, which as I recall you needed.

Got new shoes yesterday - Replaced the stock Goodyear Wrangler AT at 19,000 miles. Two were near the wear markers, and I hated their winter performance. New KO2s all around.

Today, replaced the air filter and wipers, before going to the stealership in the morning.

Fresh oil change at the dealer with Mobil 1 5W30 full synthetic, and also had the battery replaced under warranty. Had a new Motorcraft 850CCA battery installed 6mo ago and started getting the Low Power Mode warning and battery light upon start up... They tested the battery (with less than 10K on it) and it was putting out 72CCA.

Apparently these F150s have a Battery Monitoring System that needs to be reset when a new battery is installed. I believe this is done by hooking up a computer and resetting it. If this is not done, the BMS will treat the new battery like the old faulty one and drag it down to the old one's level. That may or may not have been my case, who knows. Either way, I know it was reset with this new warranty replacement.

Oh, and if you have anyone check your tire pressures, make sure you check your valve stem caps... I have fancy chrome ones and almost every time someone else touches my truck, at least one is hanging on by a thread. Any time I get my truck back from anyone else touching it, I go over everything that was done before I even get in it!

Read your manual. Your BMS will relearn over night.

Installed a pair of hammer locks making it easier to hook up my RV safety chains. Not sure what Ford was thinking when they designed this tow hitch set up.Click image for larger version

Cool mod to ford trucks with tow mirror spotlights; I made it so they can be use at anytime regardless of speed or keys, etc. Before they would only be able to be used if you were going slower than 6 mph.

Yes I agree. Apparently all the engineers involved in designing this hitch have never towed anything. I use 3/4'' shackles for my safety chains.

LOL That is part of the reason we went to a 5'er....

The DRW hitch has it right. Not so much on the SRW. . . .

I just ground a small amount off the back of my 3/4" hooks and it worked fine after that. I think the Ford engineers only know about these.

From the research I have done, we are both correct. The BMS will relearn the new battery over an uninterrupted 8hr period. That means put new battery in, close doors, don't drive it, just leave it alone for 8hr and it will be relearned.

In real life application, no one is going to leave their truck at the dealer for 8hr for a battery change, so you can force a quick relearn by resetting the BMS which negates leaving the truck sitting for 8hrs.

It is intended to relearn over night at your house. You don't have to leave it at the dealership. That would be a stupid design, oh wait. . . .

Not today, but a few days ago, had my tires force balanced at the dealer because I had a vibe at 70+. Got all new tires and now smooth as glass. That force balance is awesome. Nice that i got zero push back on anything. Downside of buying a truck that’s been on a the lot a while. I think they they were squared a bit.

Yeah I know what you mean, my 2018 3500 was sitting on the lot probably for a while but one thing that I did I had them to put my cooper discover a/t's from my old truck on my new truck.

Finally got my 40 gallon auxiliary diesel tank mounted. Gives me 71 total gallons when both tanks filled, or at 9 mpg (low end estimate) when towing, 639 miles. Many more than I would do in a day. With the 31 gallon tank, I could only go 279 miles, which meant that I was always looking for a good place to fuel by mid afternoon, then again to top off before pulling out in the morning!!!

The auxiliary tank is a game changer! No more having to get fuel at sketchy stations or places without easy access for rigs with trailers. I have mine wired to a solenoid and controlled by an up fitter switch that opens it as I need fuel. Mine is gravity fed but you could also wire in a small fuel pump to speed up the process.

Tom, I originally only had a solenoid with gravity feed and then decided to add a 3 GPM in line pump and it really makes a difference as to the flow. When I'm going at 65 MPH just the solenoid struggles to keep up with the fuel consumption

Lol Al! I know exactly what you mean. Mine fills about the same rate as I use it. Usually I’ll flip the switch once the needle on the dash shows 3/4 full. But after this last trip out west going up multiple 10-15% grades, I’m thinking I may add an in line pump. Only had about 200 or so miles without the trailer hitched so it was definitely drinking some fuel
