All I did to my truck was disconnect it from the '17 Eagle 28.5RSTS we just bought after towing it home 400 miles from Boise, Id.

Oil change and I started shopping for shocks. My mechanic suggested staying with stock because I'm really not towing that many miles and my 21QB isn't very heavy. I'm not convinced.

Oil and filter change, top off washer fluid, and vacuumed out the interior

I change the oil/filter in my Sierra every 5,000 miles. The computer tells me a story more like 12-15,000 miles but I ignore it. Oil and filters are cheap, engines are not. I change my Allison transmission oil/filter every 25,000 also.

Well, after months of going back and forth my DW and I finally decided to upgrade from a 1/2 ton TV to a 3/4 ton TV. We pick up our new 2020 Chevy 2500 with the 6.6l gas engine in the morning.

Although our 2018 Tundra performed well for us, even pulling into CO, I always felt a little wary facing the more “robust” passes. I actually only had one instance when I could not get shut down quite as fast as I wanted to when a nut tried to pass us with a uhaul and on coming traffic. The bigger truck might not have made a difference, but it did tip us over the hump to go ahead and upgrade.

I would not have made the upgrade if our favorite places to camp were not above 9000 ft. The numbers on the new Chevy 3/4 are pretty impressive and we should be able to stay with this truck should we ever decide to upgrade to a 5vr.

Th Tundra has been a good TV, and I would not hesitate to recommend it for a trailer a bit smaller than our 28RL WhiteHawk, or if people don’t plan on traveling to the high country often.

Be advised if you decide to start down this same path, the 3/4 ton gassers, at least in Texas, are a bit difficult to find, both in Chevy and Ford, 2WD especially. I know there are two definite thoughts on TV capacity and I don’t intend to take either side. I just think my DW and I will feel a bit more secure in our mountain travels with the new 3/4.

As mentioned, both tow and cargo numbers are impressive, but will let you know how it performs once with hit our first 7% grade. Although I loved my Tundra, it is doubtful that the gas mileage on the 6.6l Chevy will be lower (lol).

Another reason why I don't lift my trucks, I keep them in the garage.

What did you do to your Tow Vehicle today?

I unhooked the battery tender & drive the 8 miles round trip to pick up my oldest DD from high school today. However, I realized something VERY important from this...I keep telling my oldest DD that she will be driving my truck to school next year since it just sits during the week & I have a “company” car. After watching all the boys drool over my truck while waiting on her, I’m staring to second guess this idea!

I don’t know what is worse...boys drooling over your truck or drooling over your daughter! My DD turns 11 soon and I’m not looking forward to her high school days!

Reminds me of the progressive commercials...when you turn into your parents [emoji3]

Luckily here in small town Magnolia, most of the kids still respect their elders. It’s the damn city kids I worry about

My teenager daughter has shot archery competitively for approx 8 years and has now moved to trap, etc. Her last "Boyfriend" came over one day for her to teach him how to hold a bow. It was quite comical to watch.

She also can drive manual transmission, but I digress.......
