Took it to the Ford dealer and had the front "integrated gear ends" replaced under warranty. Had a roar when in 2WD that we didn't hear while in 4WD. (What the heck is an "integrated gear end"? Are they anywhere near the turn signal fluid container?) Anyway, it will be ready for our month long trip in our new hybrid TT we just brought home yesterday. Grandbabies, here we come!

I left my host campsite yesterday for some necessary things at my home base 70 miles away: Voted absentee in the upcoming presidential primary, got a hair cut, ate some chinese food for lunch, picked up my mail, attended a birthday party for my sister in law and now this morning I'm heading back to the park and watch the water in the river rising from the hard rain earlier in the week.

Haven't done it yet, but got my new fuel filters in the mail today. I have 8800 miles and plan on swapping out the filters around 10k miles.

Got a new one. Need to update the user info & avatar. Still have the Touareg, but wanted more grunt. 2016 Ram 2500 Cummins 4x4 SLT Lone Star. The X213 should not be an issue

My brother, who just got a 2015 3500 Cummins 4x4, teases me about the clearance lights. Calls them the "fancy tiara lights". Hey, the truck was on the lot & the lights were already there.

It took the dealer 2 weeks to find me one WITH the cab lights. It was a non-negotiable thing for me.

Cleaned about 6" of snow and ice off of it, just in time for another storm on Monday.

Installed air ride helpers. Can't wait to see how much better it feels when loaded.

Now it needs a bath before we take the camper out next weekend.

Changed the air intake filter today. Used a Fram this time instead of a Mopar. I used the high end Fram ($21), since the paper element is oiled, like the Mopar filters. The cheaper Fram filter is just dry paper, no oil.

The old filter, after 30k miles, looked pretty dirty in places, but my truck had still been getting great MPGs, and when I punched it, it had plenty of get up and go. Curious to see if there's any change in performance or fuel mileage with the new filter.

Added this little swing out hitch step. Works great & really helps climbing into the bed of this beast.

Neat step, but I would kill myself with that on my truck.

Looks really useful, but if I had one I KNOW I'd bust my shin on it. And hitting that edge would be painful, maybe even dangerous.

On the step theme

I put one of these steps on last Summer. Swings down with just a touch of the foot, back up out of the way the same way.

Robot Check
