You can use my truck but you will have to drive. I just broke my ankle.

Thanks for the offer! Sorry about your ankle. That happens sometime when you kick too many butts! [emoji23]

Pictures of Setup.

I posted Saturday my Task of setting up the WDH on my combination. Here are the pictures once I was finished. I highly recommend Newbies to take the time and follow the "How to Weigh Your TV/TT" on this forum. Its easy, and will give you more clarity on how to load you TV/TT, and either give you a peace of mind, or make you sweat a little.

Decided I would try 89 octane fuel. I had the manual for the '14 model, and it recommended 87 octane fuel for my engine. I recently downloaded the '15 manual (my truck's year) and it says "87 acceptable, 89 recommended". No telling why that happened, but whatever, I'll give it a try. So far, it seems to run a smidge smoother, but "the proof is in the puddin'" as they say; I'll hand calculate the mileage and see how it comes out. And I'm really looking forward to hitching up the trailer to see if it helps.

Difference in price was $5 on a tank, I can live with that if it's better for the truck.

89 octane is recommended / 87 acceptable for my 2011 Ram 5.7 hemi. I tried both many times when it was new, both towing and not. Monitored the fuel mileage and performance, and finally decided 89 oct. fuel made no difference. I did read somewhere that identical engines may differ. Some do better with the higher octane fuel.

Also read that when changing octanes, it's best to run a few tanks through the engine to give time for the computer to make adjustments for air/fuel mix and for the transmission to adjust its shift parameters.

Hope the 87 works best for you. 5 bucks is 5 bucks!

I have a feeling in my gut that the 89 is going to make enough difference for me to switch. I let the tank I had of 87 go pretty low (I didn't have a gas light yet, but I put in 25 gals), so it's not like there's a lot of 87 left in its veins. Already the truck idles smoother, has better pickup, and runs smoother. I used to get some studdering when she was cold after startup, and I didn't get that this morning. I'm really trying to watch out for the "placebo effect", but it does feel different with the 89... Like I said, I'm going to be watching it pretty close for at least 2-3 tanks, and a couple tows and we'll see how it goes. It's our busy season at work, so we're not going anywhere; the tank I put in yesterday will probably last me until our first trip of the season in mid-April.

Well it finished, looks not that bad, better than what it was, all one colour, on the roof and hood, no peeling paint and rust. fixed up the silver also.
I am sore today,
now on to the boat, has some grinding to do, cutting in to the boat loader, rudder.

What did you do to your Tow Vehicle today?

Got my truck back last night and drove it to pick up my trailer that I had to leave at the campground. Not easy getting it all hitched up and ready for the road when you're by yourself and it's pitch black outside. The truck drove good as new though [emoji3]

My Eagle has built in lights in the front and on the tongue jack but I added another light to the tongue area and the front door. I really like them.

Tri Lynx does not make one in black but you might find something similar in black from another manufacturer.

Ok here goes. First time poster. Love the sight. We just bought a new JayFlight 24rbs so I figured the 'ol TV needed some love (02 Silverado 2500hd).. I spent the day doing-
1. Curt Class 5 hitch.
2. Tekonsha P3 brake controller.
3. Every brake line and hose was replaced with stainless steel.
4. All new Calipers, pads and rotors both Front and Rear and flushed with synthetic fluid.
5. B&M Super Cooler to replace the tiny stock transmission cooler.. also flushed Transmission with full synthetic. That should keep temps down.
6. Beer

Future projects this week-
1. All new fuel lines.
2. Stainless Borla exhaust system.
3. New step bars.
4. New tires and wheels.
The truck is in great shape, most of this is preventative maintenance.. the northeast is tough on vehicles but I've managed to keep this thing near mint and after shopping new trucks I just can't let this one go!

Anyways I've been a lurker for a while and got some great info off this site..
