Lucked up and found a great deal on a truck. 2002 F250 crew cab with the 7.3 in it. One owner and only had 124k on it. Got it a few days ago. Wanted to try to get it detailed but with rain forecast here for the next three days, I'll settle with vacuuming and cleaning the interior for now!

I was in the middle making a left hand turn (no trailer attached) with my truck, a car pulled out past the white stop sign forcing me wide and cracked my stock 17" wheel rim and damaged the tire on the curb.....
Upgraded/treated the truck to new 20" tires and rims. i like 20" wheel looks over the 17".

Plans changed. Ended up washing interior windows. Noticed a light out on the rear of the cab. Switched all 3 to LED. And removed a cb radio that was in there from the previous owner.

2016 F-150 upgrades

I have pulled my 28BHS for almost 1800 miles without a complaint other than a little bouncy through not so great highway roads. My hope is to improve the bouncy feeling, remove any sag, and make the truck look better! I wanted a truck that didn't look like all the other F-150's I drive past everyday. However I didn't want to over do it so that I ruin my ride quality, so i just finished the following:

1. Added the Roadmaster Active Suspension (raised the backend a 1 1/4"). So far this has been great by giving it a better ride and feel. FYI - Used black shim setting. A bit spendy at $429 but worth it!
2. Over Christmas weekend I put in a 1.5" leveling spacer on the front. Now I have a 2" rake and with the trailer hooked up it is almost perfectly level. The back end sits a tad higher so I could of went with a 2" leveling kit but I have read a lot about leveling and every .5" makes a huge difference to the angles of the front end and the life of the parts. Cost $80 and a couple of scraped knuckles
3. Put on new rims which makes the truck more personal to me and doesn't look like all the other 150's on the road. DW wasn't happy about it because she doesn't understand why I would replace them when I just bought the truck, however she now thinks it looks good and I sold the OEM rims and tires for some good money in one day. (Rims are Mayhem Beasts 18X9's only $156 a wheel)
4. Mounted the rims with one tire size bigger so I don't kill my gas mileage and again ride quality. Went with BFG KO2's 275/70R18. These tires have been upgraded from the Old KO's and they have a much stronger side wall and tread pattern while still looking aggressive but still giving a smooth ride. Also the cost of the tire blows away Toyo's and other brands at just $225 a tire.
5. Not done yet but they are on order mud flaps. Now these are the most expensive for what they are but they are the highest quality flaps out there. The real additional expense is because I had to buy no drill brackets since the truck is aluminum. The flaps are .5" thick rubber that weigh 5lbs each so they will not just hang there without good support. Total cost with brackets $475 flaps were $115 each.

Hey with this set up it should improve the towing experience and it looks real cool!

Total cost about 3k but totally worth it other than the mud flaps being real spendy I believe I got everything done at a good price and hope to get a lot of benefit from it all. I have not towed due to the trailer is winterized and put away. I will say I have towed with the RAS suspension and it works great and with the tires now from what I have read from other post should be real good.

Happy New Year everyone!! This forum has been a lifesaver from a newbie's perspective and I have learned so much from properly towing to making some killer mods. May this year be filled with great camping memories and get your reservations in because here in WA you will be lucky to get any hook up sites if you didn't make plans 3 months ago for this summer. Worst than Ticketmaster when trying to get tickets to a hot event

Didn't really do anything to it, but I found out the the cruise control on my '14 Ram 2500 diesel will not set any higher than 85 MPH on my drive home from Atlanta. This is my 1st diesel and Yes, I was in a hurry to get home! I was mainly stuck anywhere between 55-65 MPH due to the rain, so I was trying to make up ground when the roads dried out and the weather improved. BTW, this was without towing anything.

Had a set of GM 6" running boards installed on the new truck. Now in the market for a 60" tool box.

Since my "new" truck is an older truck, I decided to do the "door seal mod". Firms up the door seal to alleviate rattle and wind noise and restore that new door feel.

Cleaned the throttle body and Mass sensor in Big Red. That throttle body was nasty and causing CE codes, or at least I think that`s what did it. After the cleaning I gave her a good burning out and the CE light went out. Total cost about 15 bucks for the cleaners. Probably the first time they were cleaned in 13 years. Yikes.

Filled the Gas Tank then put a 55 gallon drum in the front of the bed and filled it with water to give me an extra 400+LBS of weight for traction in case we actually get Snow here in Atlanta!

Interesting! I've had mine set at 90 (or maybe a little more) and it never gave me any trouble. Of course, we're talking about pristine conditions on 4 lane divided highway in Central TX with a posted limit of 80, and I too was empty. Was in a hurry to make the evening hunt at the deer lease one time, and in a hurry to rescue my dad who was stranded on the back of a 1600 acre ranch the other time.

Fuel economy was pretty bad.

Most of the time, 85 is more than fast enough.

Sat in it and tried to figure out why I'm not getting 12vdc from the trailer connector.

My last F-150 needed an fuse and a relay. They were in a bag in the glove box but the dealer's tech installed them before I left.

New Tow Mirrors

I installed new tow mirrors on my Suburban. Much better visibility when towing or not. Took about 90 minutes or less for both.
