Nice! Next you need to look at the 6634 air filter mod. It'll really let the 7.3 breathe. You'll be shocked at how much "peppier" it feels. Also, if you're towing a lot think about upgrading to the 6.0L trans cooler

I let my rear tire pressure down from 80 to 65. I should have done this a couple of weeks ago after arriving at this host camp site.

Installed the cabin air filter retro-fit kit. Took about 15 minutes and everything fit as expected.

Last week replaced the 26 gallon fuel tank with a Transfer Flow 46 gallon tank. I am now ready for my trips out West! I like to stop for fuel when I want to stop, not because I have to.

Had some trash rolling around back there from when I went to the deer lease a few weeks ago. I had completely forgotten about it. Cleaned it up and threw away the trash. DW saw the blood on the tailgate (that I forgot to rinse off) and was not impressed.

After 3 hours of troubleshooting, wire chasing, checking fuses and relays, and a lot of research, they told me there was a change on the 2017 models. Apparently you get 12 volts when you plug the trailer in and a demand is called for. This is controlled through the trailer towing module. It is not like previous model years that incorporate a relay and fuse. That said, after it warms up today, I will install the battery, hook up the trailer, start the truck and see if I get a charge to the battery.

Like others have said, A 6.0L trans cooler and a trans temp gauge if you don't have it already.. They are a must in my opinion especially if you are towing..

Best of luck with the truck!

Kevin

Replaced the exhaust system - cat back. Dual Magna Flow mufflers, custom tail pipes, stainless tips. Really "woke" up the big block engine in my Avalanche.

I had both thermostats replaced. My engine operating temp has been low when not towing for some time. Typically in the 158F range in all but hot summer months. When towing it would get up to the expected 185-190F range since it has 185F thermostats. Obviously the thermostats weren't closing properly and after 10.5 years and 172,000 miles I'm not surprised. It really didn't bother me much other than the fact that the heater didn't get very hot in the winters.

Well the temp issue finally set a code when the engine temp didn't climb fast enough. So I had both thermostats replaced yesterday. Now the operating temp, not towing, is 185-190. I'm sure the heater will work a bunch better and faster this morning when I leave for the store.

After 2 days of using the F-350 for my 120 miles-per-day commute, it needed a fluids check. The power steering pump was whining on the ride home last night.

Almost out of power steering fluid; Added to near full.
Oil was 'only' 1/3 covering the safe operation cross-hatch area. Left it alone. Recheck in 1,000 miles.
Everything else OK.

Last night was the first time temps went into single digits. All four tires were three lbs. low. Pumped 'em back up to 36 lbs.

Moved the "kid seat" out of the truck and back into the Acadia. DW's turn to drive for a while. It was nice driving the truck every day for the last week and a half though!

Well I purchased a new truck last month and retired the old one. It only had 350k on it, sold it to my BIL. In any case in the last couple weeks added seat covers, a clear bra, Linexed the bed, added some side/nerf bars and mud flaps front and rear. Almost complete with mods but still working on one. I removed the headache rack from my previous truck and sure enough it fits the new one. Working on refinishing it as it is almost as old as the old truck. Has some rust in places and am going to get it powder coated this time around. Also working on fabbing up a cradle for my toolbox to hang off the headache rack mounts. That way I will still have full use of my bed for lumber etc instead of putting the box on the bed floor. I will still have about 10 inches of space underneath the box just like an across the rail toolbox.
