I may have to wait for my birthday as well, Dan.
Those things are a little spendy!

I finally managed to get a working update for the Ford Sync for my truck, to version 4.6. About 6 months ago, they told me there was and update available -- the previous version my truck was 4.1.2 -- so I downloaded it and followed the instructions to the letter, and nothing seemed to be happening, no update completed, no failure message, nothing. I had a lot of back and forth with Ford, and still no solutions. After a while they stopped answering my emails. I eventually gave up.

Then out of curiosity, I checked again. Still 4.6, but the file date was just a few weeks old, so I tried this one. Same thing: no update completed, no failure message, nothing. I tried it again, but this time it said file not found. I checked the version installed on the truck, and it said 4.6, and it seems to have worked.

A little better functionality, some more features, and the stereo itself sounds better so the audio codec has probably been updated. Bluetooth streamed audio now shows the artist and song title on the display; before it didn't. Sync's pronunciation is a little better, it actually says "Bluetooth" instead of "Blueduth". But when I tell it to "play genre folk", it uses another F word instead of folk.

Apparently it plays nicer with apps like Pandora and the like; I don't use those so I can't comment on it. I'm still playing around with it, but it looks like a decent upgrade. Is it worth the hassle? For me, the increased Bluetooth functionality and the better audio sound make it worth it, but otherwise, probably not.

Got the estimate done today for the hail damage to the TV with the insurance adjuster. Their initial estimate is $1,528. We'll see how much it actually is tho when I take it to a reputable body shop??

Got rid of the crappy OEM Goodyears. I did get 3 years and about 32k miles out of them but they were not going to make it another season. Moved up to an All Terrain tire - Backcountry AT's from Les Schwab - but stayed with the P-rated 275/60R20. With my small trailer and tongue weights of around 450lbs I never had any trouble with sidewall flex on the Goodyears. The Backcountry's have a slightly higher load rating so I gained 78lbs per tire to 2679. And they are stamped with "Made in the U.S.A" as well..

As we actually had a pretty decent, sunny day here in the PNW I then loaded up the utility trailer with all the junk from the last bathroom remodel and hauled it to the dump....

On the advice of many others here, I finally opened up the void area above the microwave. Took out the MW, popped out the black false panel, screwed in 4 shelf supports (1/2 x 1/2) around edges, stapled in a piece of lujan for the new shelf. It took longer than I thought because I suck at working in tight places, but the DW likes it for bread and paper plate storage so I guess I done good.

Happy RVing,
Jeff

Lowered rear tire pressure from towing psi back down to normal day to day psi. Rides much better now.

Dropped mine off at the body shop this morning to have the hail damage taken care of. I was told that it will only take them 2/3 days to fix, but might take 1 week total due to all the other vehicles in the area with hail damage.

Made my 1st tow with it...about 50 miles to the dealer. Combination of 2 lane back roads, interstate, lots of wind and it snowed most of the 1 hour drive! Luckily it wasn't sticking to the ground. Once on the interstate, I set cruise to 68. Truck stayed in 6th gear and never downshifted. Averaged 10 mpg according to the dash. I am absolutely in love with the exhaust/engine braking while slowing down.

So you're not selling it for a gasser in the near future?
