Who uses a CB in their tow vehicle or motor home

My wife breaks my stones all the time because I have CB in my truck. But, it has given me fun filled conversations (not always the most politically correct)and good traffic info.

Do you have a CB in your TV or motorhome?

Haven't had one since 2008, too much chit-chat and very little info anymore

Yup, still have one and use it quite a bit. Especially when traveling with others through areas of poor cell reception.

I use one if logging trucks are using the roads and when I/we are towing on narrow roads we have a spotter vehicle a ways out front with another radio.

Two years ago I purchased one just to listen to the general traffic (ch 19) chit chat that I recalled from using them in the late 70's. I found mostly dead airways and so once again put it away.

Nope. Dad had one in the 70s and 80s, and even used it some into the early 90s. When we used to have mom towing the boat and dad towing the trailer, they could talk to each other on long trips (LONG before cell phones), and that was important. But not since then. I don't know why he stopped using his. I never got one because I just don't see the point. I have no desire to chit-chat with anyone except the people in the truck with me. I have a "smart" phone that gives me traffic and construction information. It might not be as "real-time", but it's pretty close most of the time and I've never not had coverage when I needed it for that purpose. We went on a 3800 mile road trip a couple years ago, and I never thought for even a second that I needed a CB.
