If I was going over that hump pulling my trailer, I would want the tires on the ground, Looks like the Ford was doing a better job of keeping them there?

This is one of many reasons why I got rid of my Super Duty. The frame flex on them is horrible and makes very a very "loose" feeling tow vehicle. The two Ram HD trucks I owned and now my f150 all tow with much more stability due to their superior boxed frames. And when I go off road I expect my suspension to take care of keeping the wheels on the ground, not a twisting frame.

Twisting flexing frames are not a good thing, obviously. If you subjected your vehicle to this type of thing on a constant basis you are asking for trouble. What happens to metal that get twisted and flexed a lot?
Yet, I found the other videos these guys made very interesting as well. Every truck manufacturer has their strong points and weak points though.
I have owned them all. My favorite is still my old 1972 Chevy Cheyenne 3/4 ton 4x4. That thing was a beast. Bad thing about it was the A/C kept going out and it put a tremendous drag on the engine. It also got lousy gas mileage; it has three tanks though... Next was my 1981 Ford F250 Custom with the 300 Cubic in straight six and the Borg-Warner 4speed. I couldn't stand the way all the plastic stuff in the interior broke so easily, and with the 6 cylinder engine towing my old 5er, even a light grade slowed me down to 40MPH, but NEVER did I ever not make it up a hill loaded or empty. Its main redeeming quality was that it got around 13 MPG empty and 13 MPG fully loaded and towing the 5er.
Now I have my 2004 Dodge Ram with the 5 speed manual and the 5.7 Hemi engine. It doesn't do quite as well off road as my Chevy did, but everything else is a winner. So far it is a clear winner. My neighbor has the same year truck with an automatic transmission and the cummins diesel. He has a shorter lighter TT than I do. Several years ago we all headed off on a 370 mile round trip fishing weekend. That diesel smoked me when it came to pulling out and pulling hills. At times I envied the diesel. That us until the return trip. He had to stop halfway through the return trip to gas up as he only had 1/4 of a tank left while I still had 1/2 a tank. We both have 34 gallon tanks; I pulled all the way back home and still had an 1/8th of a tank left. The difference was made up in my manual transmission and patience when pulling hills. So what; I went slower.
Sorry all. I went off on a ramble there....

Those defects are likely why Ford is the most popular and biggest selling truck of all time.

Thanks for posting that video. If I happen to come upon a set of those ramps, I'll avoid them.

I currently own a Ford F350 and a Chevy Suburban. I am not brand loyal. I buy the vehicle That fits my needs and budget. With that said I do not see the relevance of this test for most people. I drive my truck on the paved roadways and may tow my trailer on some unpaved roads at some campgrounds but I am certainly not driving over terrain like that test simulates.

Ford, Chevy, Dodge, buy what you like and enjoy it.

Agree, It's fun to rib each other about trucks but in reality you can find a truck in the big three that can pull whatever rig you choose to drag along behind you.

This whole thread is purely flame. Don't see how this test is relevant. Just another Ram owner trying to prove why their purchase is superior. I do drive my truck off road and on 2 tracks, but I've never been able to get a wheel off the ground and much less had to open the tail gate at the same time. Buy what you want and I'll do the same. I love my Ford and wouldn't trade it for anything else. JMO.

While the video was disconcerting, so are all the reports of Dodge frame CRACKS. Thanks for the heads up, I too will now be avoiding those ramps.

Agreed! I have a GMC but don't see it being better or worse than the other two brands. They all have their particular problems and issues.

There is a reason for Ford to build the frame that way. It has to do with durability and longevity . Pickup trucks are not built for off road, especially heavy duty ones. They are meant to haul and tow heavy loads. The frame being exposed to cycles of no load to heavy load is under stress. By being able to flex under a heavy load and snap back into its original shape, it does not crack , stays bent or damaged. Semi trucks' frames are built the same way. The video proves that heavy duty Fords are perfect for towing. Do some more reading on that one before jumping into a wrong conclusions. It is all just PR stunt from other manufacturers. By the way, I am a Toyota guy
