Do you know what your rear axle weight rating is for your Yukon?

That makes sense!

My thoughts too when i bought it. The main thing was trying to get others with the same tv and tt to chime in on their experience.
There is always a better tv out there and i plan on getting one just a year or two done the line

I would do what you are already doing setup wise and use it for a season see how it does and then figure how important it is to keep it or make a change based on your comfort level driving it pulling and distance you drive

With the 3.73's you will be fine. Exactly the same setup I had. Make sure you get the WD hitch set up right and it will tow well.
When you get ready to go to another TV, you may want to consider a 1/2 ton if you don't really need a diesel 3/4 ton. Don't get me wrong, a diesel would be great, but you don't really need it if you don't plan on going to a bigger TT - and, if you are on a budget like I was, you can get a lot newer and nicer truck for the same money as a much older diesel... just something to consider.

It is, but he was talking about getting a new TV in a year or two, and mentioned going to a diesel. I was just saying that sticking with a gas 1/2 ton truck may make it so he could get a nicer truck for the same money. With the 6 speed transmission, I am really pleased with my 1/2 ton pulling the same trailer and would not want to go to an equivalently priced diesel 3/4 ton - I looked.

Agreed 100% the new trucks have a lot more ability with the trans engine packages ... I work at the gm truck plant in Fort Wayne 2 days a week and the pulling ability is changing

That's news to me. I think the 1500 is a half ton and the 2500 is a three-quarter ton. The only SUV's that I am aware of that come in three quarter ton are the excursion and the suburban both of which they do not make anymore.

The tow capacity is rarely an issue. The issue with overloading usually has to do with the TV. I don't doubt your unit will handle it but the only way to know if you are actually within limits is to hit the scales. Your GVWR and axle weights are going to be tight when fully loaded.

They sure did. Mines the 1/2 ton of course. The 3/4 had the 6.0. And the denalli also had the 6.0 and awd all time.

The last year for the 3/4 ton Suburban and Yukon XL was 2013.
