12V Outlets

We are the new owners of a 2011 X20E. I have looked everywhere but have not been able to locate any 12V power jacks. There are none on the overhead lights and none of the cone type on the ceiling.
I could be overlooking them, but feel like i've covered it from front to back.

We like to dry camp often and having the jacks for fans would be nice.

Any suggestions where else to look?

Thanks!

Check around where the TV is (or would be if you don't have one). There is usually a 12v nearby.

There is exactly one (1) in my band-new 19RD and that's a 10A for the television.

Seems we have to pull the light fixtures and install the 12V 2A connectors ourselves.

on our 2012 we only had one under the cabinet that has the stereo in it.

I pulled a couple wires from the 12V fuse box and added 5 more.

I don't think they had them. Kinda strange not to put them at the bunk end lights. That's where you'd most likely use them...while you sleep.

Hmm..

Sounds like a good mod project!

There should be 2 cone style outlets that uses a 1/4 stereo headphone plug, one at each bunk for fan-lights.

EDIT: I guess not. I just pulled up photos of 2011's on Google. No fan light outlets at the bunk ends! Very strange. Our '03 Kiwi 17a had them (and was delivered with the fan-lights!), and our 2013 X20E has them (but did not come with the fan-lights). I wonder if the wiring is inside there on yours?

Since I mentioned mods, you might find my drawer mod of interest. My wife when we were on our last trip how nice it was to have real drawers.

My Coleman pop-up had the jacks...but no lights/fans. We priced them and Whoooooaaaa Nelly..they were a fortune. WE just decided to buy a floor fan and be done with it!

I just picked up two of the bunk light/fan units off kijiji (Craigslist) for $40 Cdn.

To bad the 2011 X20E doesn't have the jacks. Looks like you will need to get creative.

Perhaps something cheap and dirty for now something like this to attach directly to battery >>

Combined with something like this that you can snake in through the canvass/beds >>

We own a 2015 x20e and it definitely has a 1/4 inch phone jack at each tent-end for using a bunk fan with light. These are great to have and we use them all the time. Try Amazon.

Also, there is a cigarette lighter type thingee next to the TV above the fridge. It has a label saying that it is for television only, but . . .

We have boon docked for several days with just our two batteries. The LED lights don't pull much power and we seldom put all of them on at the same time, so they are good for several days. Then we run the fridge and anything else we need on propane. We read; listen to audible books on our phones and/or play or watch something on ipads. We have a little solar power thing for topping off the ipads and that is about it. The ipads and iphones can connect to the RV entertainment system thru bluetooth so we play books and music on the sound system, which really makes it seem so much more entertaining.

The only thing we really miss is our k-cup coffee maker.

We need to learn more about batteries; inverters; converters; etc. but we were so happy with what we were doing that we put the new education on hold. If we plan to stay out more than a few days, we find a place to hook up.
