19H Question

Just baught a 2011 19H Hybrid and we are getting ready for our first outing this weekend. Several times in the manual it warns to check the lug nuts while traveling but nowhere does it mention where the lug wrench is stored.

Does it even come with a lug wrench? If not, is there a special one required? I tried using the one that we had for our pop up and it can't even fit into the opening in the wheel where the lugs are...

Nice choice of trailer, I have that same one. No wheel wrench is supplied, I have a socket and a breaker bar to do mine.

Definitely an oddball...13/16 is the one that fits best but a 21mm will do as well; just a tad, I mean tad, movement on there.

Interesting. I have the same one too and never bothered to look. I better go buy something just in case.

Where do you camp at? I'm in MI as well and am just curious. I have an older 19h and an Explorer SportTrac

I keep a four way lug wrench in the trailer. It will fit the truck and trailer lug nuts.

Thanks guys, I tried a lug wrench on mine and it would not fit into the recess that the lugs sit down in (aluminum wheels if that makes a difference). I'll give the 13/16 socket a shot. Thanks for the tip!

Snake - We are KOA members and do a lot of camping at the Petersburg (Monroe) KOA, the Port Huron KOA (top notch CG), A couple different KOA's down by Cedar Point, Muskegon KOA and we also frequent the Jellystones in Frankemuth and Fremont, Indiana.

We're big state park people. I love the parks in the Muskegon area. Just spent the weekend up at Silver Lake

We've been to Sterling but that's it for the state parks. I was just on the website today, though, checking out the state campgrounds in the waterloo rec area for hunting season. We also plan on hitting the state CG at houghton lake next year.

Which ones do you hit in the muskegon area? How far in advance do you need to make reservations? We almost did Orchard Beach this year but it was full the weekend that we wanted to go

I had a X19H until this spring when we traded for our current trailer. Mine came with the socket for the lug nuts. I can't remember the exact size, but I know it was a thin walled socket(to fit in the tight clearance between the nut and rim). I had to provide my own breaker bar and reducer because the socket was 3/8 drive when it should have been a 1/2 inch drive for the torque they recommend. If the dealer won't provide then I would suggest a 1/2 inch drive thin walled deep socket, in the right size of course. Should be able to pick one up for 5-10 dollars at a hardware store. Don't forget a hydralic bottle jack of at least 3 ton capacity.

I can't remember exactly, as the owners manual was very vague on that. It listed the torques for 14" aluminum wheels and 13" steel wheels but not 13" aluminum wheels, which is what's on the X19H. I think I split the difference and came up with around 90-95ft-lbs of torque. Check your manual for the exact torque values or call the dealer up and let them get the right numbers for you. 90-95 ft-lb seems too high for a 13" wheel to me. I think it should be around 70-80 ft-lbs at the most, but I didn't manufacture the axle, so stick with the manual.
