I am running the 1000-10000 bar Equalizer bar setup. The dealer recommended them, and they are within Jayco’s recommended WDH specifications. I would have no issues recommending this setup. As for a stiff ride, yes the truck does ride hard, but every TV I have ever been in with a TT and a WDH rides hard, so I cannot say it harder than with a littler WDH setup.

From personal experience, I just switched from an Equalizer 600/6000 (put on by my dealer) to a Reese 350/3500....and I can tell you it's made all the difference in the world. You gotta believe they make WDH Hitches in 200# increments for a reason.... sometimes you get "recommended" what the dealer has in stock....not the optimum.

I agree. Until the trailer is weighed, all the speculation about which WDH to get is just that - speculation. My old 17Z was supposed to be 350# unladen TW but loaded up for camping the tongue was 600#. The round bar Husky system I had was (IIRC) good for 800# TW and worked perfectly for the RV.

Unfortunately, Equalizer skips over an 800# offering. So if you want that legendary 4-point anti-sway control....you can get pack smart and enjoy a nicer ride of the 600/6000, or.......get the 1000/10000 and ride down the road like a chicken wing with a skewer run through it.....[ATTACH][/ATTACH]

If one's loaded tongue weight doesn't exceed 600lbs, I would tend to agree.

We just bought a Kiwi 23B about a month ago. I bought it from CW in Statesville, NC and live in Darlington, SC. This was the first time I had ever pulled anything this large and also on the interstate. My TV is a 2013 F150. I do not have an ebrake on it, but one has been ordered. Once I figured out my speed, which was around 60-65, it towed like a dream.

I do not have a WDH. My hitch is factory installed and I use the bar with 3 different size balls. The tongue is just the factory tongue, no special add ons. I have been looking at sway control bars, but have added nothing yet.

Haven't done anything with it yet. I need to take it in for some warranty work & will ask again. I was up to the dealer a week ago nothing new. I'm not happy with them at all . It's my 3rd trailer from them also.

I've been using a Blue Ox SwayPro Hitch with my X20E and it's been great. The sway control is due to the shape of the WD bars and hitch design rather than using a friction bar. It's easy to hook up and we haven't had any issues. The biggest problem is that the hitch is bulky and you won't want to drive around with it attached to the TV.
I would drive without a WD and sway control.

Tahoes, Suburbans, and pretty much all SUVs have soft suspensions. Built more for ride quality than doing real work. I wouldn't even consider towing with these without w/d. To me its a "no-brainer". I used a w/d hitch with my Kiwi 17a and my '95 Burb when I had it.

When we bought the Tahoe we were told its basically the same frame & suspension as the chev. 1/2 ton pick up 4x4. The ride was just as nice in my silverado 4x4 as the Tahoe.
As far as using the WDH, the salesman at the RV dealer told us several times "oh, I'd just drop it on the ball and go"!! Their shop tow vehicle is a Tahoe just like mine. He said that when they pick pick units up from Jayco that's how they do it! So as far as a "no brainer" I was just going on what my dealer/sales person told me. I've used A WDH last 4 campers I've had over the past 20 some years.
