Has anyone taken off the stabilizer jacks and installed scissor type jacks to stabilize the trailer?

We just bought the trailer from the original owner and it is like new. This is our first hybrid...so hopefully we will love it.

Thanks all.....WE are new to this forum

Welcome! I am pretty new here too.
I don't know what the advantage to the scissor jack would be on an expandable. They are better at lifting, but you really don't life the trailer with the stabilizer jacks. Maybe someone else can comment.

From pup tents with no floors, to tents with floors and flies, to a pop up, to the expandable.

Congratulations on the new to you camper!

Not sure why you want to change the type of jacks on the trailer. If it is to stop the "wiggle" you feel when people move in the trailer I would recommend using a BAL leveler if the trailer is single axle, or a Xchock or similar style chock for a duel axle trailer. The frame of the trailer is light weight. If you plan to level the trailer by lifting the corners you may bend the frame.

well i am worried about the "pop up" type stabilizers doing the job. The only other non pop up trailer I have had was a Wildwood 26fls, it had the scissor type stabilizers and hardly never shook when the trailer was set up, i owned it for 5 years
