2013 showers! Why jayco?

Im about to pick up my 2013 19h next week and have a few questions about the shower. Why would jayco switch to a more shallow shower? Why would they put the faucet there? Does water leak all over the place? What can I do to prevent this without tearing down the whole thing? I have small children and I'm concerned about getting water all over the place? Thanks everyone!! Great site.

Seems your not the only one thats curious. Check further in the jayco hybrid section and you'll find someone with the " x23b shower" has the same complaint. Seems like it was a change for the 2013 model.

This is just another example of the design engineers not being users of these things. As long as it works on paper that's all that matters.

You don't have to be an engineer or a camper to see that water spraying on a plastic tub surround running into a 10" deep tub is better than water spraying on paneling running into a 3" deep tub.

I'm not familiar with the 19H, but on our X23B, the water does indeed run on the floor. They put the faucet on the side of the sink cabinet.

The faucet also has the spigot for the hose to the shower head on the bottom. I'm looking for a faucet where the connection is on top to see if this helps.

Any other solutions, I'm open!

It sounds like the location of the faucet on my 2010 17Z. I don't have a problem with the faucet location, but I am glad I have the deeper shower. My guess is cost cutting is the reason the shower pan is only 3 inches now.

The bride and I went to the Houston boat show last weekend mainly to look over the TT's (gettin the itch, don't cha know). They had a '13 X23B and we looked it over to see what changed. And yup, the biggie (that I saw) was the shallow shower pan. Our deep one let some water out when we first started using it (always collected behind the toilet where it's the least accessable) but adding stick-on curtain clips (Bed Bath & ...) to hold the curtain against the wall has mostly cured that problem. If you try the clips I'd think 3 on the back wall (maybe 2) and 2 (maybe 1) on the side wall would be in order. The wood panelling (where the faucet is mounted) hasn't shown any water damage (yet) but it's mostly covered by the curtain while showering. With the shallow pan I'd expect it to be more exposed to the water and would worry about it. When we first got the TT I wondered why the tub was so deep (it even has a stopper) since it's waaaaay too small for anything but using as a foot soak.

I noticed in the aft bunk what looks like a small cone shaped LED fixture near where the "sheperd's crook" slips into its socket. The bride saw it and remarked "I want one". Our bunks ends are unlighted but then I go there to sleep so it's less of a deal to me. I didn't look at the front bunk but assume there was one there too.

Sounds like they switched it from tub to shower style.

I have seen posts where people put plexiglass on the sides of the tub to raise it up and stop the water from going all over the place.

Maybe do a search for tub mods.
