First time TT owner. We're about to take a week long trip to Wilderness State park in Michigan and my wife wants to be able to have hot water. Any tips for using the water heater? How do I know if it has water in it or not, etc.
Check you bypass valves for the HW heater make sure the hot and cold inlet valves are open and the one valve in the middle (by pass) should be closed then run water either city water or from the pump and open the hot faucet at any sink/shower normally the one that is furthest from the heater and make sure you have water flow.
Also when you get flow open the other hot water faucets to clear the line of any trapped air.
Before you do any of the above make sure the drain plug is installed in the heater.

Thank you. Do you know if I should hear anything when I turn on the electric switch? Or is it just a silent heating element? I don't plan on using the propane option.
Oh, get used to 'Navy Showers'. With a 6 gallon tank you're gonna have to pause the water flow while you lather, etc. Unless you want to end the shower on a chilly note.

Are you going to have electric hook up at the Wilderness State park? If not you will need to use propane to heat the water.

Yeah I've been there before with my father in laws truck camper and they have electric. I got the trailer home tonight and it was in fact the valves, the bypass was open and the hot water was off. I turned it on for a while and have hot water. Won't be any showering, just using it for my daughter! Thanks for the help.
