I have a similar problem with my OFF-ROAD POPUP which has 15-inch wheels on it. The pull out step is only a two step fold out. Definitely have watch that last step when coming down the steps...
I went ahead and picked up one of those Camping World's high dollar folding step. looks like this...
Having the two positions was just what we needed. The grated step was also just what we needed to STOMP the boots on before entering the POPUP. This CW folding metal step is very heavy duty and withstands my boots stomping just fine.
Since this may be a thief item I ran a coiled steel lock cable starting at the back side of the step frame thru the left side of the step frame down thru my Colman ROAD TRIP grill setup and terminates thru a hole I drilled on the left side of the folding step. Keeps everyone honest for both my ROADTRIP grille and CW Folding step.
When we pack up for transport the coiled steel cable lock easily pulls back thru the ROAD TRIP grill and I lock the coiled cable just on the left side on the back of the step frame which is a perfect place to keep my coiled lock cable when in travel mode. Just another KEY to keep track of.
The folding step sets with the four legs folded up just inside the POPUP doorway when in travel mode. Then I can lay things on top of it when in travel mode. I was originally going to use one of the popular additional steps but right away discovered they would have been too large for travel mode. The CW Folding Step was a perfect choice for us.
