23B step height too high

We really like our 23B but dont like the steps, a bit too high. I know we could make a wood box or get a little stool, but is there something more permanent that anyone has done? Like does Jayco make an aftermarket step that resembles the Rockwood Roo? I know they are higher but I love their entry steps

With my short legs I have the same problem. We bought a sturdy box with lid made of plastic from Lowes. We use it to store things we use out side ( bug spray, citronella candles, lighters, etc ). When we are ready to leave we just set it in door till we need it again.

We also made an adjustable brace for the step from a 12" piece of pipe, threaded rod and a couple of nuts and washers.

I made a wood box, we store our leveling blocks in it. I really like the box setup. The box gives us a lot of flexibility. We have been in many places where the grade was such that we needed the extra step, and we have been in places where the nose of our trailer was sitting on the ground and we could not even pull out our factory step down. I think if we had a built in double step we would be in trouble to many of times where the step could not be deployed.

I tried to post some pictures, but IE kept freezing while trying to upload. So after three tries I gave up, so maybe later I will try to post.

Go to a garage sale an buy one of those plastic step aerobic steps. I bought one that is all black and has a 2" riser section that can be removed to make it a bit shorter...works perfectly and is easy to keep clean.

I have a similar problem with my OFF-ROAD POPUP which has 15-inch wheels on it. The pull out step is only a two step fold out. Definitely have watch that last step when coming down the steps...

I went ahead and picked up one of those Camping World's high dollar folding step. looks like this...

Having the two positions was just what we needed. The grated step was also just what we needed to STOMP the boots on before entering the POPUP. This CW folding metal step is very heavy duty and withstands my boots stomping just fine.

Since this may be a thief item I ran a coiled steel lock cable starting at the back side of the step frame thru the left side of the step frame down thru my Colman ROAD TRIP grill setup and terminates thru a hole I drilled on the left side of the folding step. Keeps everyone honest for both my ROADTRIP grille and CW Folding step.

When we pack up for transport the coiled steel cable lock easily pulls back thru the ROAD TRIP grill and I lock the coiled cable just on the left side on the back of the step frame which is a perfect place to keep my coiled lock cable when in travel mode. Just another KEY to keep track of.

The folding step sets with the four legs folded up just inside the POPUP doorway when in travel mode. Then I can lay things on top of it when in travel mode. I was originally going to use one of the popular additional steps but right away discovered they would have been too large for travel mode. The CW Folding Step was a perfect choice for us.
