Accumulator Tank Installation

Has anyone had any experience adding an accumulator tank to the water system of one of these small trailers? Would it give me a lot of pressure at first, then go down to normal when the pump takes over?

Have never added one, but I think it would primarily reduce the water pump cycling. Basically a tank with a bladder in the middle, pressurized to 20 lbs, and water in the other half. Have thought of adding one a few times, but we mostly use full hookups, so not needed. I'm sure you'll get some more responses.

Below is the one I installed in my 16XRB. Evens out the pressure and lets a faucet run run a slow stream without the pump hammering. Took about 5 minutes to set in place.

I have the same accumulator as M&A.

The pressure differential between the pump cycling on and off is the same as having no accumulator. The difference is in the frequency of the pump cycling. The water pump cycles on and off less frequently with the accumulator.

would this help with the girard on demand hot water heaters? I hear about folks having problems with the hot running out too soon because the water pressure is too high and the unit shutting off with a reduced pressure to avoid scalding.
Any advise would be helpful. We just bought a 31FK, and we have never had an on demand heater before.

The on demand water heater problems won't be solved with an accumulator.

Actually, I'm the wrong person to address this problem as early on I replaced the on demand water heater with a tanked water heater.

Crabman, I like your silencing mod--this looks like a plan. I always feel like I'm waking the whole campground up every time I use the potty!

Thanks to all for your help.

In addition to isolating the pump I added the flex hose in the pic that goes from the acc tank to the pex pipe. I also wrapped the pex pipe with pipe wrap anywhere it contacts the floor, cabinets etc on the pressure side of the pump. This minimizes vibration.
