Adding front stabilizing jacks to X17Z

We're interested in adding front stabilizer jacks to our new X17Z. Does anyone have any experience with this? Any brand names to recommend?

My 2010 17Z didn't come with front stabilizers, just the two in the rear. I added 2 BAL stabilizers to the front and it helped a lot. They are bolted into the black frame that runs across the front. I think there are 2 bolts on each. It's not a big project, mainly just measuring and drilling the holes. I bought the stabilizers at the Jayco RV dealer, but you can get them online.

i added them to my 16xrb also, got them off ebay. i used self tapping bolts, fairly easy but i had to move the propane line a little to get the one jack to match the other (did other side first, would do side that lines run on first )and the regulator broke when i took the line off so i ended up having to get a new one of those also.

I have wondered about the HF ones to do the same. BUT a buddy suggested getting some 30" for the rear, and move the factory 24" to the center for those off level sites. Makes sense, would need less blocks underneath the jacks in extremely uneven sites (front to rear).

BAL (owned two trailers with BAL scissor jacks) and Husky seem to have very good reviews. I would only suggest the scissor jacks as they do seem to be a little more stout then the lighter duty stabilizer jack.

I bought a pair from Harbor Freight a couple of weeks ago and installed them on our 16XRB. No hardware included so I ran to Home Depot and bought the stainless self tapping screws recommended in the instructions.

Tools used:
White paint pen
Center punch
Cordless drill
Cordless impact driver
Clear silicone in the holes and on the threads to hopefully prevent corrosion

Advantage: The nut on the new units are the same as the factory jacks so you can use your factory wrench.

Until a couple of weeks ago, we just used some of the Camco stacker jacks from Wal Mart. When we took it in to get one of the rear jacks replaced under warranty (screw fell out going down the road), I just had the dealer put two on the front as well. I don't understand why these smaller units don't come with stabs at all four corners, it's not that much of a cost saving, and, the increased stability, decreased bounce is well worth the investment.

Thanks for all the input. DH ordered the BAL from Amazon, they got here in two days and it took him about half an hour! So much more stable!

I thought about adding front stabilizer jacks to my 17C and decided to simply take along a pair of jack stands that I have in the garage and they work great. I just couldn't justify the expense at this time for the pair of scissor jacks, when I had the extra jack stands around.

Trailer frame had pre drilled pilot holes. I just drilled them out to the size on the instruction sheet and they bolted right on.
