Any tricks to Filling x17z fresh water tank?

I have never used my fresh water tank and plan to dry camp. Is there any trick to filling it? I was planning on filling at the park ( there is a supply).

Secondly, I was planning on keeping my water heater on bypass, I don't need hot water. Is that okay? I don't even know if filling the fresh water tank puts water in the water heater, does it?

If the bypass valves are in the bypass position, no water will go in the HW tank from any source. City water or fresh water tank.

If I were not going to use it, I would disable the power and gas to it in case someone tries to turn it on and tag it accordingly.

If you haven't ever used the fresh water tank then I'd suggest sanitizing the tank and water lines. Pretty straightforward process. Check your manual or search the forum for steps.

When filling the tank, use a hose designated for potable water, usually white in color. If you overfill the tank, you'll hear a gurgling sound and then water will start to drain out the overflow pipe out the bottom of the trailer.

I commonly bypass the water heater, and use the FW tank. We turn off the 120 circuit breaker to ensure the electric heater does not accidently get turned on. I'm not worried about turning on the gas.

As to fill the tank, on the street side, there is a larger cap, sign says gravity fill. Take it off and shove the water line in. There is a low point drain under the htt, that needs to be closed. Fill until water comes out the over flow that is under the htt.

Also recommend sanitizing the water system too. I sanitize the whole system once a year.
