Bathroom fan 23B

Good morning,

Just noticed that my bathroom fan is clicking pretty loud so I am looking for a replacement. I read some posts about Fantastic fan...etc.

Just looking for something basic to replace what is there, it's a weekend warrior trailer so I don't need to upgrade it.

Any recommendations for a direct replacement ?

I replaced the factory fan (small cheap one) with a Vortex 2 fan. Pretty easy to install and don't need to get on the roof or disturb existing roof seal. Has a LOT of power in both directions. Only drawback is that you do lose a little sunlight due to the plastic shroud.

The Vortex 1 is less expensive. It has 1 speed in 1 direction, but I've heard it has good suction power.

To replace the fan motor itself I ended up just using Goop glue to secure the new motor in place. My replacement motor had different mounting. I didn't want to mess with adapting it. It's working just fine.

Another member did fan/motor replacement by using a computer pancake fan. I will probably use his fan suggestion if my motor fails again. In fact, I will just glue the new pancake fan in also.

I went with a vortex fan. The original single speed one direction. Very pleased.

Doesn't seem to be, when I turn it by hand it feels like something inside is clicking. I'll take it out (have to anyways) and see if I can band-aid fix it. lol

My guess is, it is clicking on the screen. There is not much inside that motor to click (and still work). Try removing the screen first. If it really is the motor. You can buy replacement motors at RV stores. Maybe at auto parts shops also. The motor itself is not hard to replace. Just take a quick pic BEFORE you disassemble.

Took the motor apart and the glue on one of the magnets let go. so it was the magnet clicking inside. Tried heating the glue up to get it sticky again, but no luck. the magnet split in two.... so that's a bust. lol

Use some gorrila glue...that stuff is great.
