Bed in a 2013 X23B

Has anyone done anything to upgrade the bed in this unit, ours is very thin with no or little support.

Some folks put those memory foam mattress toppers on there. I just suck it up and enjoy roughing it.

I picked up a 2" memory foam topper for this year. I know I'd feel the hard material beneath the bed myself. I've not tried it out yet, but hoping it'll help without adding too much hassle. So guess I don't have much help other than a +1 so far. Check with me after mother's day and I'll have a trip report from our first outing of the year.

We put a 3" topper on our bed and we just love it! Have one at home too so it's just like being at the house. The Denver mattress was way too hard for us and the foam is the answer. Many have done this and I think you would be happy adding it.

We use a mattress topper in ours and love it. Be cautious of what you get though as many mattress toppers will crack if they are folded or rolled. The first one we got from Sam's for about $90 fell apart from folding it. We now have $150 one from Costco that seems OK so far. Don't recall the brand name though.

After reading many post, here, about how uncomfortable these mattresses are, I put a 3" memory foam topper on the bed in my Eagle. Spent all last week on my first ever trip in it. Found it to be very comfortable, and got very good sleep each night. The one thing I didn't expect was that it made the bed so high, I can't just sit down on it to undress or put on my shoes. I have to climb into it. And the dog has to get a running start down the hallway to get up that high!

We're adding a memory foam topper to our bed this season, and just in time as my wife in 7 months pregnant. Camping season will come to a dead stop if she can't sleep comfortably... Purchased it at Costco earlier this week and hope it stands up to being repacked time and again.

Which brings me to a related question:
Does anyone have a mod or solution to deal with the small vinyl covered gap between the bed platform and trailer frame? My wife sleeps on the inside of the bed and has recently complained about it. I'm thinking a thin strip of wood secured with a few velcro strips will do the trick.

Any ideas?

We also got the 3" topper from Costco and so far so good. We place ours under the mattress for added support so the we don't walk up in a body cavity.

Has anyone turned the front mattress so that you sleep with your feet to the center of the trailer?

We had our first trip with the 2" foam topper and it was a much more pleasant night of sleep. Now, I still can't get the zipper cover lined up right and that foam grips to the fabric, but oh well. hah

I'm 6' 3", so I sleep on the camper side of the beds and put my feet into the cubbies so that I have enough room to stretch out...works. I need to get some mattress toppers...sounds like 2-3" is the way to go here.

Can anyone confirm that when you buy a mattress topper, you should buy a "short queen" for the x23b?

Take a measurement of your mattess. 75" is the short queen.

Doesn't work, the mattress sticks to far out into the dinette.
