Black tank snafoo "settlement"

So, first off... For those optimistic friends that wanted to comfort me by questioning the tanks, I can assure you, the black tank had a significant amount of stinky waste... And it wasn't ours!!! Thank you for the optimism... However, I had to face the ugly truth!!!

The rv store found the camper and the note this morning and called immediately. They offered apologies and agreed to clean and inspect the tanks. He also would check the battery that was not charging. He threw in a free winterizing... And then that was it. I restated the gross discovery again, but he did not bite.

I requested to speak with the manager who agreed on the horrific nature of the event. He agreed the 2nd inspection and the winterizing.. He offered to install a back wash thingy on the tank.. It already has one, I asked for a refund of some of the inspection money, he said he could work on it.

I am not one for confrontation, so I am sending my husband in for the nitty gritty numbers game!

So, all in all, I remained calm... Stuck to my guns and will continue our conversation tomorrow am.. I was unable to pick it up today, will head over there tomorrow!

Thank you for all your advice and well wishes for a poopless black tank! We are well on our way to a resolution!!!!

Sounds like they are willing to work with you which is great. Hopefully you will have it back as good as ever in a few days.

Make sure you get things like winterizing in writing so when you are ready to put her to sleep for the winter, they remember the agreement.

Glad you made progress and stuck to your guns. I was following from the start with absolute horror. Even with a full refund of the inspection, it won't cover the experience of dealing with the black tank issue. Whatever happens, I hope you enjoy the TT and the camping experience moving forward.

perhaps one thing worth mentioning to the dealer is future service and or products you are likely to come to him for. Also, not sure of what you paid for the inspection, but my dealer charges $80 for winterizing. BTW, ask him if you can watch. First to be sure he really does winterize it, and second so you can do it yourself next year.

Glad to see you got some resolution!

Fortunately for me, my son-in-law has a TT and will help me with my winterizing when the time comes. But for right now, I'm planning on some Fall camping trips!
