Condensation in our x17z
We went camping this weekend and started out nice but last night was really cold. It rained all day and at night it snowed. We had the heat cranked quite high. The condensation was really bad on our fold out beds. So bad that we had to sleep on the couch and the dinette. Water kept dripping on the mattresses. Is there anything you guys recommend to do next time the weather is soo cold and crappy?

Cracking your bathroom vent open a inch or so, and unzipping a window a couple inches on each end has said to help. What really works are a product called PUG's Pop Up Gizmos.com check out the website for details. With the snow you got the Gizmo's would have been the right ticket for you, good luck

agree with above. also you could turn on the bath vent or vent above the stove. instead of the pugs we purchased survival blankets from Cabelas and lay them on top the canvas over the beds and attach with plastic clamps I found at Home Depot. they work good except in strong winds

Our PUG's helped as did openining the bath vent (I installed a MaxxAir cover). We didn't have condensation probs. this was in the now gone X23B.

Same thing happened to me last weekend. Second night I used bunk end fans (hadn't had a chance to use them) and unzipped a corner in each end. didn't use any other vent fans. Had minimal condensation in the ends and that was with six people and two dogs that night.

I have never used Pugs, but everyone says they are great. the key is to give the moisture a way to get out. All I do is open the bathroom roof vent aobut 1/2 - 1 inch, and open at least one the side window in each bunk about 2-3 inches. I place the zipper at the highest point and then open them up just a bit and pull the fabric back to leave an air gap for the moisture to escape. Our first cold weather trip was like you described, ever since this method works great for us.

Thanks for all the replies. Yes I tried unzipping the corners and opening the vents but we had a crappy spot where the wind kept turning and rained hard so every time I unzipped one side then the wind pushed in the rain in a bit and it kept following me LOL. Bathroom vent had to be closed cause I was afraid the wind will take it. We had 50-80 km/h winds. We will try to be more ready next time. That weekend would not make not go camping again. Happy camping everyone

We added a max air vent cover, we leave the vent open year round,
Try opening unzipping the windows a bit less. How we do it you do not even see screen.

We have a couple of these O-2 COOL 10-inch AC/12DC/D-CELLS portable fan from WALMART which are whisper quiet and put out alot of air.
Just moving air around inside the trailer helps us for condensation in our OFF-ROAD POPUP with tent bed ends.

I was looking at the Maxx air for my x17z. Has anyone installed the Maxx air II with the hinge and if so is it an easy install on the x17z or should I just install the Maxx air?

I installed the II on my 23B...it was no big deal. From what I can tell from the installation video, brackets mount to the original roof vent the same way.

Make sure you install the hinge on a side that gives you room to open it.
