Cooling the fridge
Can I pre-cool the fridge from the house?....
Can I plug in from a regular house outlet with an extension cord with an adapter into the 30 amp power cord to only cool the fridge. Nothing else in the camper will be on? Thanks!

I always pull our TT around front at least 24 hours before we head out. Put my coordinates adaptor on and hook up the extension cord and start cooling. Our trips are usually no more than an hour or so away so everything is still cold when we arrive

My fridge is pretty much on all summer. Parked in driveway turned on lowest setting between trips. Makes for a good beer fridge! Same with the outside one.

Just askin', but....
Isn't that a lot of "wear and tear" on it by leaving it on all the time??
We don't have access to power since we keep our trailer at a storage unit a few miles from where we live. So I'll go the night before we leave and turn the fridge on propane.
It's nice and cold the next day!

you likely will get more failure actually from it sitting then using it occasionally than fulltime IMO....

There's nothing from Norcold that says you can't do this. Never had an issue with our last trailer for 5 years either.
I will have to defrost the freezer soon tho. It's getting smaller and smaller... [emoji1]

Not much. If you are not opening it all of the time, it's pretty efficient.

Yeah. The land of hydro power!
When I used a storage lot, I would run over two days before a trip to turn the fridge on (gas). That worked great too. Barely used any gas (fridge not being opened) and almost zero battery usage.

I would say it costs me less than 50cents a day and that is probably way higher than actual

Yes u can. We do it the night before camping even though it only takes about 2 hours for the fridges (we have two) to cool down. It s enough power for more than just the fridges as well...

I turn my on on the driveway the day before I go somewhere. If it was in a storage lot when I had to use propane I would turn it on when I picked it up. I find it pricey to run on propane.
This summer I have a seasonal site and l leave it on all the time.

Like everyone else has said, "yes". I'll add that our X23B ran just fine powering the fridge, lights and radio in the drive while plugged into a 15A circuit. The A/C would pop the breaker even if just the A/C was on. I discovered the outlets in the kitchen (house) are on a 20A circuit. The 20A would allow us to run the A/C which was great after the trip and the bride was tidying up the interior. I'm also a believer in the fridge fans which help to move the cool air around a bit better.

We get our fridge cold at home. We have also added a thicker wire and breaker and can run our AC while parked in the yard if we need to.
