draining concerns

We went to visit our 23J trailer a couple of weeks ago and took some pictures. As we were going over some of them we noticed that the drain that exists the cavity under the sink appears to be going in an up hill direction. Is this normal, does it cause any issues?

To me, its appears to be an easy fix. Since it is a 2012, I would definately say it deserves a trip back to your dealer for some warranty work. Water does not travel uphill and even though you will have some water in the trap, I would have them trim a couple inches off the downpipe that would cause the horizontal pipe to drain better. Could eventually cause a buildup in your trap due to improper draining.

Thanks guys. It is still at the dealers. We are to pick it up in two weeks. Will email the picture to our salesperson and see if it can be fixed before we pick it up.

Looks like some of them young trailer assemblers were in a hurry to get to the barn raising.

Just taking a second look. Is it possible that the slanted drain is for water coming towards the drain from the bathroom sink which is right beside the cut out and then both drains exit out (of a pipe we can't see) directly behind the pipe that we can see??

That is a big problem if you live in an area with cold winters.

Just got my 23J home from winter storage yesterday, looked at my kitchen sink and the drain pipe drains towards the bathroom, oposite of yours. My pic looks alot different under the sink?
I also included a photo of a water filter and expansion tank I installed last fall, fit very nicely in the space next to the water pump. Also check your water fill hose clamps at the fill and the tank, mine were loose and leaked when the tank was full.

Thanks Tslarsen. It's strange that they look so different. Hope your 23J survived its storage well

Just looked at mine, and assuming the bottom floor is even I measured 10 3/4" at the sink and 10" at the board partition. My eyeball also says it slants down towards the bathroom.

tslarson - I have a partition where the drawers are that hides the parts that are exposed in your photo, what year is yours? I think the sink/drawer changed a bit from what I remember reading somewhere???

Mine is a 2011. My bank of drawers is at the bottom of the cabinet with a access door above. The area underneath the sink is totally open. On yours the bank of drawers has been raised, I would rather have your cabinet layout, and have been thinking of installing drawers where yours are, I hate bending to the floor to get my silverware.
