Drawers under the sink will not stay shut while I'm traveling

The three drawers under the sink next to the oven will not stay closed when I'm traveling. I have tried adjusting the latches, etc and they still open. I have even removed the silverware from the one drawer when I travel. It is a real pain.

Has anyone replaced the cheesy latches with something different?

ID:	14161Mine stay closed because I have a door that covers the drawers but I added a drawer above the 3 stack and had that problem at first. How I solved that problem was on the part that's connected to the drawer I opened up that latch part just a little more by twisting a screwdriver inside it just a tad.

I moved the electrical outlet that is above your top drawer to the right and that was real easy to do. Where the outlet was is just dead space so I just pushed that panel out and added a new silverware drawer.

I also made the drawers larger and deeper. The braces between the drawers are held in place with 4 screws on the back side so you can move them if you want larger drawers. The bottom blank panel I pushed out so I could lower the braces.

Hey chuck, here is a link where someone had a similar problem with their drawers not staying closed while travelling. Looks like there are several suggestions as well as some links to the products they used: Someone even used a magnetic closure....
