Electrical problem with X20E

Hello, we have a 2011 model, have camped 3 times with no problems until this trip. It appears that the 120v shore power will operate the 120v items, but none of the 12v things. The only way we could get 12v things to work is off the battery, but it drained down to about 8V within several hours. We barely got the slide in closed.
We have the camper at the dealer today, but was seeking comments on the cause. I did check all the fuses and breakers, 3 times. Probably the converter? If so, what went wrong in your opinion.
I will update whenever I find out from dealer.
Thanks!

Yep - sounds like the converter. More than likely a defective part during manufacturing.

Problem was converter. And dealer (service) was not surprised. He said they replace about 10/week!! Just makes me wonder when will the next time be? After warranty expires? On a trip?

Metalhead,

Just curious...., the statement "about 10/week" by your RV dealership, is this on Jayco products only? Which model year? If this is the case than I would think other Jayco dealerships should be having some notable issues as well.

I do know that Jayco for years used IOTA converter/chargers, but recently changed over to Progressive Dynamics products.

He was not specific. I believe he meant that their service dept does that many, on whatever make/type. He was just telling me that they do a lot of converter replacements.
