For us, the time required for setup/breakdown varies based upon these factors:
  1. The weather (In some instances, this can actually reduce the amount of time needed).
  2. What malfunctions, breaks, etc. or what I can't find/misplaced or how many "senior moments" my wife and I had while performing the task.
  3. The number of "I thought you already did that"'s which have occurred.
  4. How many campers stop by to B.S.
  5. How much "stuff" we unload/setup (lights, table, rug, awning, bikes, chairs, decorations, etc.)
  6. The cat when she's camping with us

What are PUGs?

Boy, what a difference experience makes! We just used ours for the second time and it took my husband, 3 children, and me over an hour to set up and over 2 to break down camp. And we were like a comedy act at the dump station... Hope to get it down to a science. I like the checklist suggestion. Will be writing one of those up and laminating it for future use.

Set up and break down at the campsite, 30-45 minutes easy includes stoves, chairs, coolers, awning, jacks etc.

If I have the kayaks, that takes an extra 30 minutes to load all three on the truck racks

We fulltime and move every week or two so we get lots of practice in setup and breakdown.
Typical setup time and breakdown time is about 45 minutes.
Since installing the leveling system, setup is much easier.

Probably an hour to set up, and maybe 2 hours to break down. Hubs and I do it as a team and are pretty leisurely, but we have a system we follow and it works very efficiently and smoothly. We could probably do it faster if we pushed it harder, but we move at a mellow pace.
