hybrid fiberglass flex under bunkend?

Hi . Just a quick question.

I have a 2012 x23B. I was just out getting ready to wash it and I noticed under the front bunkend (facing the trailer, all the way over to the right about 5 inches above the diamond plate) a small "out"-dentation .. like something is poking out a bit from inside the trailer. Also I noticed while looking at this, that all underneath the front bunkend, there is a little give or flex to the fiberglass. Just above the diamond plate, under the bunkend door, all along the width seems to flex a little when pushed with your thumb. Just wondering if anyone else can check this on their x23b or similar hybrid and see if it is the same. Everywhere else on the trailer there is no flex, but right above the front diamond plate, the fiberglass seems to flex slightly when gently pushed. you have to look side-on to see it move.

I would very much appreciate it if someone could check their unit out and make a comment. I am thinking this is probably normal due to the curvature of the unit under the front bunkend. Thanks

Thanks

I have an X19H hybrid. I do not notice any protrusion like you mentioned. I do notice that the fiberglass has a little "give" to it when I press in on it where you mentioned. Hope this helps some.

You could have a small wood chip between the fiberglass and the substate. The fiberglass on these trailers is less than 1mm thick so the smallest particle will telegraph through to the surface.

Sounds like delamination caused by water intrusion. If that's the case, you'll need to find the source of the leak and seal it to prevent further damage (perhaps by the bunk door, since it's right under the bunk). My '04 X23b has a "bubble" on the exterior back left wall due to a previous roof leak. The leak has since been repaired, but the bubble remains. It appears that if the leak is resolved, the delamination doesn't spread, as the delam on mine has been constant for the past year.
