That are your own preferences. Quick Jack's are inexpensive on Amazon.

Congratulations

You will figure it out.

I started out without but found that using the jack to pull the TV up when hitched to ease the placement of the WD bars was more cranking then I wanted to do when it was hot and humid. I added the electric jack and was glad I did. Like I said, you will figure it out and it's not something you have to do right away.

Exactly. It's a preference only he will know. I went the other way (although I still think about adding it at the start of every season). It's not that much work but it is time/energy I could spend on other things.

If you are using a weight distribution system you will want to go with the power tongue jack.. it makes life so much easier.

Our old hybrid came with a 2,000-lb rated tongue jack which worked fine when we had a smaller lighter tow vehicle. But when I upgrated to a full-sized pickup, it was just too much weight for the jack when hooking up the WDH, and it broke -- naturally while we were hooking up for a weekend's camping trip. I hummed and hawed all weekend about what to replace it with, whether I should go with an electric jack or another higher-rated manual. Since we knew we weren't keeping the hybrid much longer, I replaced it with a 5,000 manual jack. We knew most of the new trailers came with power jacks, so spending that extra money on one for the old trailer didn't make sense at the time.

X2 and my Jayfeather weighs in at approx 5,650 lbs. and never felt the need for one and I bet I'm older than you. My wife can do it and she's 4'11 and under 100 lbs. if you time it it's only seconds and not even a minute and the tongue weight is 670

My previous trailer was smaller and had a manual jack. The Jayco came with an electric jack. I preferred the manual jack because it was faster. I have tried the manual jack option on my Jayco but needed to remove the gas cylinder cover for proper clearance of the crank handle. My old trailer had the gas cylinders mounted behind the batteries giving plenty of clearance for the jack crank. If and when the electric jack fails I will consider going back to a manual jack as long as gas cylinders do not cause interference.

I'd say try it with the manual jack for a few outings and see if you are up to the task before asking the dealer to put one on.

I had about 3 outings in our TT before I decided to replace the manual jack with a power jack. We were at a CG and it was about 90 plus degrees out and I had had enough of the manual jack that day and ordered one when we got back.

I have no trouble in lowering the tongue with a manual jack Raising it can be a PITA What I have done is place a Hyd. Jack under the tongue and raise it Then lower the manual jack and take the Hyd. Jack away. Much easier going down than up

I added an electric jack to our X23B. The tongue was only 600# so cranking was not a big deal. It was just a convenience thing. At the end of the day I just wanted one.

thanks for the input....

but i'm still trying to figure it out. I am used to towing popup, never had experience with a weight distribution hitch, did not realize this makes it more difficult! Still have 2 weeks to figure it out, if I have dealer put one on or not!
thanks!

I have never owned a trailer with a Power jack before, but for smaller trailers it just seems like another accessory to break down to me. I get it on the larger units, but i would try it without and then have one added later if you decide its too much work.

They are also very easy to install at a later time yourself.

I purchased mine after a few trips out online and install myself in 30 minutes or less.

thank you...this is what I am looking for...someone that's glad they have one! I am used to cranking up and down a popup, no big deal, I am assuming more difficult with weight distribution hitch? Would also love to hear from somebody that does not have one and wished they did! thanks again!

I added a power jack nto our 24FB shortly after we brought the trailer home. I am very happy with the addition. We also have a 24 ft. vendor trailer that does NOT have a power jack. If it were not for adding a battery box and battery, I would put one on the vendor trailer. I like the power jack that much.
