Manual slide 2006 23b

Just wondering if anyone had had to manually pull in their slide. Owners manual says it's done by turning a bolt under the couch. Is it that easy? Thanks

I had to on a prior 5W. You might want to locate that bolt before you need it. Took me a while as the manual said to put the handle in the hole? No hole, I had to take a panel off the front of the couch (that left a rally big hole) to bring it in. A ratchet will be much easier than a wrench.

I have found it. It's directly under the couch. The pic in the owners manual shows it pretty clear as well. It just seems too easy if I just have to turn it with a ratchet. Sometimes it's never as easy as it seems though.

It actually moved very easy as you are just replacing the motor with muscle power. Found this short video my motor was under the couch.

The access on 2 of mine are under the coach and accessed by removing a large cover over a opening. I thought it was considerate of Jayco to provide easy? access. No holes but there is room for a ratchet if you are triple jointed in each arm.

Problem is, the most common problem can't be resolved by manual cranking. I have pushed mine in several times and it is not impossible. Lots easier if you have 2 or more people who are very careful not to push on the lower part of the rig which is just metal and brackets. Or a combination of pushing while someone operated the motor, which on mine shears the drive bolt on one side.
