mounting a tv in my x17z.

I was buying a tv for my new camper and one of my cousins suggested that I buy one of those wall mount brackets for the tv. His reasoning was that way the television could stay on top of the refrigerator, where the tv is supposed to go, and you wouldn't have to worry about stowing it when traveling. Plus, make sure it's on a bracket that you can swing the television out and angle various directions. Sounds logical to me.
I bought the tv and bracket, but now I'm wondering if there is a stud in the correct place to be able to mount the bracket. Does anyone know if this possible?

Do you have a decal where to mount the TV? I have seen pictures of a white decal with red lettering indicating where to mount the TV.

I had a similar question on my 5th for the rear bedroom TV. I used a stud finder and the results weren't conclusive. So I sent a letter to Jayco and received the wall diagram. From the diagram I determined that there wasn't any appropriate place to mount the TV, so I ended up fabricating a piece of furniture grade plywood to the wall and mounting the TV mount to that.

Medium story short, you can get the diagrams from Jayco and have a look unless of course others have done this already

We always have had the best results using a BACK BOARD of some sort and mounting the TV BRACKETS to it. The trailer walls are thin and may not support TV BRACKETS by themselves. The screws may pull out of the wall.





The back boards spread out the weight and can be painted to meet your trailer wall decor etc...

I used the MOLLY BOLTS in the four corners of back boards to mount to the walls. There are studs inside the wall but are very small and may be aluminum type. The walls are not very thick either usually 1/4 plyboard type stuff..





We have hung some pretty heavy things on our walls using the back board idea.

I did very similar to the previously posted pictures but I instead removed the original plywood cover installed 3/4 inch plywood to support tv and then re-installed original plywood. Basically framing out the wall an additional 3/4" but looks exactly like it did before.

I had the same dilemma as you with my X20E. I considered doing some of the mods mentioned by others, but for our first trip out last year I didn't have time. So I used a removable bracket that I bought from MonoPrice that I needed for the folding TV shelf in our previous Kiwi hybrid. This bracket was only about $35 and is excellent quality. MonoPrice has mounting brackets for every possible need.

Anyway, after one use, I never took it off. It works great, was a quick install, and best of all no drilling or wall mods.

Now I need a bigger TV.

That's exactly what I'm looking for. I can't seem to find it on Monoprice. Do you mind sharing the part # with us?

I found it right away. It's not directly under TV mounts, its under "desk mount". It went up a few dollars since I bought mine. But it's still worth well worth $40.

I used a monitor mount and attached it to the side of the cabinet where thr I-rv radio/dvd player is. We have a 19" led mounted in our 17z and can see it great from the front bed and the couch. I removed the radio first so that i wouldnt damage any wires drilling the holes for the bracket. While the radio was out i also ran the audio/video cables from the back of the radio to the tv.
