New 23b owner questions

Hello everyone. New to the forum as we just downsized to a 2006 23b from a hard wall TT. I have read lots of info on the site. We will be camping when it gets down to about 40 degrees at night so I'm a little concerned about heat. I was considering plugging in 2 portable heaters at night (one pointing at each bed). We have heated mattresses and fans in the bunks. If the furnace was running and both heaters on as well as fans and mattresss as well as a dehumidifier would that blow a fuse? I've never had that much stuff running at one time. Thank you. Also is there a way to find out what size AC I have?

with heated mattresses I doubt you will need the furnace running, but can set it low as a backup. 2 small heaters and a dehumidifier you should be ok. just start the dehumid first, it will draw extra power to start up then fire up the heaters. IMO

Sorry I forgot to mention we almost always camp with either 15 or 30 amp power.

A single space heater will draw close to 15amps. So if you have two, you will be close to the limit with the bunk heaters. We had an x20e hybrid with two bunks and a single electric space heater could get it to 75 in 38 degree weather. Having two heaters and the bunk heaters may be overkill.

We use 1 of those oscillating electric heaters and it keeps us warm and toasty....

I would think with the heated mattresses it would be more than enough.

At 40 degrees mattress pad heaters and an electric heater will be more than enough heat.

We commonly are out on the low 20's, and that is all we use. We may kick on the gas furnace in the morning for a few minutes.

The coldest spot in the bunks is the outside edge where I sleep. The matress pad heater is more than enough warmth.

We also sometimes do is bring an extension cord into the htt through the slide out mechanism.

A dehumidifier is just an air conditioner that dumps the heat back into the space, so it to is a heater.

Yeah I was just thinking about using the dehumidifier to help with the condensation.

Using the electric heater rather than the furnace propane should help with the condensation.

We have almost no condensation issues. We crack open a side window in each bunk. If you put the zippers in the highest point then zip each back an inch or two. This will keep rain out and allow the moisture to escape. We also open the bathroom vent a 1/2". If you keep the htt closed up tight the moisture has no place to escape to.

As for the ac question, that model could have the 13.5 or the 15k btu unit.

Other than looking at the label on the unit you may have to call Jayco customer service with the vin#. You may be able to read the label from below by removing the inside cover and looking up in there where the filter is located.

We have a 23J which is comparable to the 23B and never need any extra heat other than the furnace even in colder temperatures. A good comforter will make a world of difference too.
