picking up a new x23b tomorrow

We are picking up the HTT tomorrow at our local dealer. We are super excited but I wanted to ask if anyone has advice on any questions to ask when we do the walk through.

If this is your first camper, make sure you get a good overview of the various systems (water pump, dumping tanks, hot water, fridge, furnace, etc...). Make sure you fully understand your towing equipment (brake controller, hitch, WDH/sway control, lights, etc...). Once you can tow safely, hook/unhook and operate the basic systems you're good to go and and can figure out the rest as you go.

Plus- don't hesitate to ask any questions here on the board, some of these guys know more than any dealer I've met to date.

Thanks for the advice. We have had a 2006 fleetwood Niagara for about a year now and I think I can confidently two this. What does everyone think about an extended warranty?

Congratulations, the 23B is a great HTT. Being you have had a TT for the past year, you have the basics understood. Now just ask a lot of questions. Make them flip, push, turn every switch and knob, including the stereo, and how to get the tv to work with it (some find it challenging at first). In quire about changing tires, if they ran the furnace and oven to burn off any manufacturing oils. Go through every drawer, window, and so forth. Most dealers will fix anything found immediately.

Congratulations! We have the 23B's baby brother, the X20E. Same floor plan, just shorter with no counter space.

I'd say pretty much what everyone above said.

As far as extended warranty, I think they are a waste of money. How handy are you? Trailers are generally pretty easy to work on, especially if you have a mechanical inclination.

Even if you don't you'd probably be better off banking the money you'd have spent on the warranty and just holding it for a "rainy day".

I don't know if I'm more jealous of your TT or the fact that you can actually see your grass....

When you live in central California you have grass pretty much year round which also means you can camp year round. Congrats Rog1968, I have pretty much been living in it in the driveway.

We are going up to the Sequoias this weekend. I cant wait to see the look on my little girl's faces when they see thoose huge redwoods. Google General Shermans Tree to see what I am talking about.

That should be really fun! I have only been there once when I was a kid. I am sure she will be surprised, it is amazing! I am in Orange County.......we are planning to go to Venture KOA in April as our first trip out. I have only pulled a small pop-up in the past so I want to keep it somewhat simple and close. Did you purchase any options with yours?
