Popup Gizmos SHWS Cover Install on X17Z
Any tips or tricks to getting a nice fit on a X17Z? We just got a set and tried them out for the first time last weekend. The issue I am having is a 2 to 3 inch gap at the top of the bunk ends where the cover seems to slide down a bit. Overall they worked great, but I just am curious what others have done to minimize the "gap".
I read that someone had requested velcro to be sewn into the top edge and used that to secure it to the top lip, but we already purchased ours so that is not an option (unless I ship them back).

I am the one that had the Velcro sewn onto my covers and installed the matching Velcro to my trailer. If you are willing to pay shipping you can send them back and have the Velcro sewn on, or take them to an upholstery shop, or find someone that sews. If you don't use Velcro you need to put the end of the solar cover up over the "gutter" around the top of the bunkend. I am not tall enough to do it without a ladder and often camp on my own, so I wanted a better solution.

I use the clips he gives you on mine. I have the same gizmos and the same TT. I put two clips on either top side of the bunk at the seams. Works well.

As far as the velcro, instead of sending them back to have them sewn on. Why don't you buy industral velcro, they come with a sticky side so you could do it yourself. I bought some of the industral velcro for the screen house when we had the tent trailer to add tarp to the sides for privacy and to keep everything dry. Never had an issue, they stayed on strong. I bought the velcro at Walmart, but the other day I saw it at the RV store I was in. This is what I am thinking of doing when i purchase my gizmos

If you haven't ordered your solar covers yet, just have PUGs sew Velcro onto the solar covers. You never have to worry about the Velcro coming loose.

how much extra did he charge you to do this.? I already have the velcro left the tent trailer project so I was just trying to save some $ so many other things I want for the trailer

I am not 100 percent sure (it was over 2 years ago), but I think it was $5 extra. Well worth it in my opinion. I leave the covers on the bunkend all of the time.

When I place my order I will ask and take it from there. I plan to leave them on as well. The less I have to do the better. that was the point of upgrading from a tent trailer!
