Propane Selector Switch on '04 X23B

So, this was my first weekend out with my new '04 X23B. I brought my Weber Q, and adapter hose so I could use the bottles on the front of the trailer. I was hoping to leave the LP flowing to the trailer from bottle 1, and use bottle 2 to fuel my grill. When I put the selector switch to bottle 1, and disconnected the Type 1 nut on tank two, propane was still flowing through the open connection. Is there a way that I can use tank 1 to run the water heater/ furnace on the trailer, and use tank 2 for my grill simultaneously?

The valve failed on the tank 2 hose... you need to replace the hose..

Thanks, Sean. I called the dealer, and they informed me that the check valve on the selector switch/regulator must have failed. I asked if it was something they test upon delivery, and they said, no, just a system pressure test. So, it looks like I have to replace the selector switch.
