Ripped canvas

Branch fell on my X23B this past weekend and put a 6-inch rip in the canvas over the rear bed. Wondering if anyone has experience with patching or replacing their canvas? We put the awning tape on it, but don't know how long it will last. Just looking for advice/cost/past experiences. Thanks!!

When we had a pop-up camper we used Bear Creek Canvas | Pop-Up Camper Recanvasing Specialists | Spencer WI to replace our canvas. They did a great job. We sent them the original (holey) canvas and they used that as the pattern. They also do hybrid camper replacements.

Most camping stores, or places that sell camping supplies and such sell a kit that can be used to repair rips. I had an army tent for years; I swear I could park my wives Toyota Celica in it, and still have room to sleep 6, along with the picnic bench inside! I had so many of those "iron on" patches on it over the years, and it never leaked through them.
As an idiot, I lent it to a work friend to use for his family camp out adventure. That was 8 years ago; he moved, and I have no idea to this day where he and that tent now reside.
May not look pretty with a patch, but it would work. To keep it new, I'd find someone to replace the entire panel.
Then to help protect the canvas, consider buying a set of "POPUPGIZMOS" bunkend covers:

Our first tent-trailer (before the one listed in our signature) was also a Coleman that a family lived-in while building a house. The canvas was OK, but the seam threads disintegrated ... so we just stapled the seams together and it worked fine until we upgraded to our '84 and sold it - to a family who owned an upholstery business! Bottom-line, you can make-do with chewing-gum and rubber-bands (e.g., duct tape, patches, staples, bungee cords) until you check your insurance and/or find the right way to repair or replace the canvas!

There may be a good repair method. I recently learned about this after buying a used PVC Sea Eagle inflatable boat and researching proper repair patching.

HH-66 Vinyl Cement. It has great reviews for patching and joining seams. Another application is to brush on for sealing stitched seams on fabrics.

I can attest to the use with PCV inflatable boats. I have yet to use it on my tent ends or awning.

A review from the link.

Not only does HH-66 do the trick on vacuum bags, but it does wonders on pop-up campers that have mice damage on the canvas and need patched up tight. We repaired 20 large holes and we are leak free! We have nick named her, Oh... patchy!
It is not commonly available in stores.

Some good user instructions are here.

HH-66 Vinyl Cement: In Stock from $7.75

A bit larger container.

I would think that matching the tent end color might be possible by using marine grade vinyl from a fabric shop.

Good suggestion. I forgot about that product. I just bought a package to carry with me on my inflatable boats for emergency repair.

The reviews are really good. Some claim it works for multiple years on inflatable boats. Boat service can be tough. Should be great for tents. I have yet to use it.

Be aware that there are at least 2 different types for various materials.

One source is Clavey Paddlesports. Great service and nice people.

Talk to your local boat shop. They probably have someone that makes and repairs boat covers. On our old pop up, the rear bunk collapsed, tearing about an 18" hole. The repaired it so you could tell from more the a few feet away. I also had them repair Ez-ups twice. I just have to take the canvas off the pop up or Ez-up frame. Each repair was whatever their $25 or so minimum charge was. The place I go, the guy comes in once a week to pickup, and typically drops it repaired the following week.
