Risk to drains on X23

On a X23b with 13 inch tires has anybody damaged their black/gray tank drain because of the low ground clearance. Question 2 has anybody added some form of protection to them. Metal guard or???
I haven't done either yet but I'm concerned about the low clearance.
We pulled a Trail lite camper with low clearance to AK and back without issue but it was always on my mind.

Haven't damaged mine (yet). Our X19H has two triangular "skids" on the back frame rails to protect the plumbing in case of touchdown. Your 23 probably has the tanks in the same place (same bath location), did Jayco not install the skids on your model?
The only place I would worry is larger speed bumps, or deep potholes that can cause an obstruction to get up between the wheels and the skids.

skids

I guess that the distance between the skids and the tire is greater on our x23b.
I can measure it. It looks like the skids are there to protect the bumper and not the plumbing

So far I have not damaged my septic system on my 23B.

Every trailer our extended family has owned, we have torn out the sewer lines. Never damaged a tank. Easy to fix the piping, even out in the field.

We have had our 23B for 3 years now. I was initially concerned about the low clearance of the drain pipes. We live in Kentucky. After 2 trips to California and one to Alaska I don't worry anymore. Plenty of camping in undeveloped forest service areas where the roads were less than desirable. There has been a couple of times that I have scraped the skid protectors when exiting gas stations onto the highway but no damage.

I figured as much when I saw the 6061 aluminum stock and the way the axle slots and bracket offset where milled. I wish my a axle was built the same as yours. I would have copied your design!

The frame on my trailer is really light and I'm not sure about welding an axle seat on a rubber insert torsion axle. I'm afraid it would melt the torsion bushing. I'm going to weld in frame supports and lift blocks using your idea, actually after my internet search your method is saved in my PC for reference, Thanks!
