We have a 23B..how easy do they install and remove and how long does it take to put them on and take them off?

we also have the 23b and it just adds a few minutes and it is well worth the time spent.
What we have found works well for us is when we open the bunkends before we extend them we clip the solar blankets to the top extend the bunk ends and then strap the wind straps around the ends. They make a great different to temp control and block out morning sunlight

I bought solar blankets in the WalMart sporting goods section for $3 each. But...I have a much better suggestion for you. Go to a local "dollar store" and buy car windshield sun shades. For $1 each, they are solar blanket material glued to a thin piece of foam. They are already the right size to fit the side zipper window openings between the screen and flap. No cutting required. I've been doing this all Summer and it works great to knock out the light and heat. I'm now considering just throwing the solar blankets over the sides and securing with clothes-pins to keep the sides clean and darker.

Mustang, I want to order these. I see they already have sizes for 2006 to 2008 X23b's. Mine is a 2010 23b. Are the beds still the same size? What year is yours and did you buy a pre-measured one or did you have to take measurements and send them to the company? Thanks!

Call 'em up and ask. They'll almost certainly have what you want. I ordered a set for my '12 23B. Spoke with and traded a couple of e-mails with Bob. Excellent person to deal with.

I ordered my set (SHW) yesterday and I agree Bob is a really nice guy; I will report back on Monday with my feelings on the product as I will be camping here in the Florida heat all weekend!!! I must say I researched the poop out of these things and you are hard pressed to find anyone to say anything negative about the company or the product so i suspect they will be just great!!

mr. Pitney is a nice guy... love the product... we got the super high wind models as well... very well made.

here is how i put ours on... we use heavy duty pinch clamps (those big binder clips work well, also) to hold the PUG in the upper corners, then run the bungees underneath, but the bungees on the end should be pulled back toward the camper... find what works best for you. i will try to take a few photos of our setup next time we are out.

i also bought a roll of the reflective material (the bubble wrap sandwich type), and cut out custom covers for every window in our 19H. also for the sides of the bunks... just unzip one end and slide them in there as well... combine those with the PUGs, and at high noon, our camper is so dark you have to turn on lights to see anything!

it's nice when you've been out surfing or fishing in the bright sun, come into a cool, dark camper...

if you don't have any PUGs for your hybrid, and you live in the south... you really don't know what you are missing...

the PUGs also protect your bunk ends from the sun, bird droppings, sap, etc.

i would stay away from the plain solar blankets... if they get wet, some will release the coating, and you will have a lot of aluminum residue on your canvas/vinyl...

We have a contract on a X17A and I have been looking into the solar blankets. Being as I'm in Florida, I'm looking for something to keep the heat out during the day. I looked on PopGizmos website but didn't see any list for sizes for the x17....Did you have to measure your tent ends yourself or did they have the sizes on file?

PUG does have the measurements for the 17Z. They are a good idea from a great company. Enjoy your soon to be trailer.

Grunge, call the PUG folks. If they don't have 'em they can get the measurements and make 'em. Great folks to deal with and I'll bet they have them.
Someone posted a mod where PUG stitched velcro the the inboard edge by request and our poster put sticky velcro on the underside of the bunk board lip and leaves them attached full time. He (she) folds them a little left and right when folding the bunk. Very clever.

They do make them for the x23f. I called up the company and they have the measurement on file. They ship out within 48 hours and I had them within a week.
