Solar Panel Install Questions

Good morning,

I am going to install a 165W solar panel on my 2015 Jayco X17Z.

I have a rubber roof and actually emailed the manufacturer to get some information regarding the construction. I was provided with a detailed roof print that shows me the complete roof assembly.

I see a lot of youtube videos and online guides that just simply show the Z brackets screwed directly to the roof rubber into the plywood below. I do not see how this would hold the panel from lifting, without hitting the trusses with the screws.

Anyone have any insight?

My 4 panels have been screwed to the roof for 8 years now with no problems.. that's 8 years of going to California and back every year.. 5 trips to Banff every year all are still there with no problems..

I mounted mine directly into the roof 4 years ago, no issues at all. If you go over to the RVing with SOLAR social group, I have detailed instructions on my panel install and there is another post with pictures of his install.. very detailed..

I prefer parking the trailer in as much shade as possible, so my panels roam.
