Standing water on top of camper
Hello all, we've had a pup for years and just upgraded last month to a 17z (Should have done it sooner!). I was wonder if you should be worried about the water on the top of the roof after it rains while the camper is not in use. My driveway has a little bit of a grade to it, so when I saw it today it had quite a bit of water on the roof. I lowered the front and a majority of it ran off, but had a little towards the front seam but not much.
Just want to know if you should leave it tilted like that so the water drains better or does it matter having the water up there. We like having it in the driveway so we can go into it when we want, dont know if it matters it's not level. I understand the fridge may not work when it's not level as well. How should you handle this. Thanks in advance and this is a great forum, alot of good advice!

Welcome to the forum! I leave mine high in the front so the water will run off the back, and the Jayflights have a crowned roof which helps a bunch too. If I`m going to be running the frig for any reason, I just hit the power tongue jack switch and level her back up to only slightly high in the front.

A slight angle is all that is needed to let the water run off and that would not hamper the operation of the fridge.

I store ours (storage lot) noticeably nose-high. When the fridge/AC are running, just enough to get the condensate to run off the back far corner.

Thanks everyone, i had it nose-low and majority of it ran off last night but still noticed it puddled up there this morning, i'm going to try it the other way as you guys discribed. I appreciated it and it helps knowing how you guys store yours!

I had stored my Kiwi 23b nose up at first. This year with heavier rain and snow it caused water to puddle in the area of our driveway and house foundation. To shift the water to the other end of the driveway I oriented the 23b nose down.
I did add a front gutter extension using a piece of vinyl siding J channel to extend out from the trailer body. I like the nose down storage better.
I have the ability to more easily lower the front than I do raise it (needs blocking) so another plus has been more angle for less ponding on the roof. With nose high storage I did get a bit of ponding.
One of the benefits of EPDM roof membrane is that, unlike traditional built up roofing, ponding is not really a problem as to the actual membrane material. I would still suggest that you avoid ponding because the freeze thaw cycles of the puddle may work to degrade seals (A/C unit) or applied sealant areas which it contacts.
We haven't used the refrigerator in the driveway, but will re-level if we do. vic

Keep ours nose down as that is the way yard drainage is. Stays that way whenever at home. Not unlevel enough to affect the fridge.
Ice buildup is also minimal as any melt runs off quickly even under the ice. Keeps the cover more clear of snow all winter also.

Anytime I park any trailer whether a camper or a utility trailer or garden cart, I pitch it so water runs out/off of it. Just good practice.
While camping I pitch the trailer to the rear drivers side corner to keep the runoff away from our living area.
