Time to say goodbye ...

Well after having owned our Jayco Jay Feather 17Z for a tad over 3 years, we have decided to move on (I know better than to say "move up" on these forums ) We will be getting a Flagstaff Super Lite 27 RLWS travel trailer. We were initially focusing on upgrading to a Rockwood Roo 23 IKSS but the price and storage differences between it and the Flagstaff made the decision clear for us.

We have had no issues with our great little Jayco but we know that it will be going to a good home in North Carolina. The new owners came and picked her up yesterday and were really pleased and excited with it - condition and modifications. I cannot tell you the mixed feelings I had when I signed over the title and watched it drive off! I can only hope that the new Flagstaff measures up to the Jayco in terms of reliability and lack of issues.

I fully expect we'll miss the airyness of the hybrid especially in the Fall when the AC can be switched off and the bunkends opened. We will also likely miss the shortness of the RV and the ability to go most anywhere, not to mention the ease of towing - both aspects that are likely to change significantly with the new RV.

We will also miss the HTT community and the discussions and camaraderie. I have learned lots on this forum and hopefully have also shared for others to benefit.

Thanks Denise. We are excited. We loved our Jayco but thought that it was time to get a bit more space and a wardrobe or three ...

Congratulations on the new TT.
You're still welcome to hang out here too.
At least come back for a visit and share some new camping pictures.

Best regards,
Doug

You bet I will continue to participate, as I still have fond memories of our 17Z and may be able to contribute to the enjoyment of Jayco hybrids by those who have them.

I won't (be a stranger) and will enjoy the new TT. I will surely pass on my TT experience where appropriate and germane to an HTT discussion.

One thing I an regretting is the ability to bring the RV home. I have a short sloped driveway that used to accommodate my HTT handily, and when I brought it home I could wash it, do preventative maintenance and also ... mod the trailer! Now my wings appear to be clipped. The new RV is almost as long as the driveway meaning that hitching / unhitching will not be possible / easily done. Then there is the slope and its loading on the electric tongue jack and slideout rooms. I didn't like to extend the tongue jack too long because of the bending lever arm so I cannot get it level and even if I could it would not be safe. Looks like I need to move house .... DW seems cool to the idea presently.
