U shape dinnette in 23B

We were taking everything out of the trailer getting it ready for its winter nap. We have been told to leave all cupboards, drawers etc open since mice like to nest in dark areas. (I better not see a mouse in the trailer in the spring I will not be a happy camper!) My question is what about the dinnette. Does anyone bring the cushions into the house for storage and leave the seating area open? I do plan on putting the bounce sheets in the trailer whether it works or not to keep them out. And I looked around for any openings and it looks like the previous owner did a pretty good job of sealing. I know those little buggers can fit into the smallest spaces.

Just a semi-related thought to your question. Our 23B table has developed a little sag. I'm not sure if it's from use or was like that when we got it. I also recall an earlier post where the table broke while in it "bed" configuration. A couple of folks have made plywood bed boards to use for the bed config. I made a support pillar some PVC pipe and toilet flanges to support the center while in the bed config. It's not attached to anything and goes into storage when the table is in its "eat" config. Our cushions stay in the TT.

We have a 36BHDS with the U shaped dinnette, I take all of the cushions off the dinnette and put them, plastic side up on the queen bed for the winter. I was told that if you leave them in place, that the plastic would draw moister.

Thanks for all the replies, I think for just peace of mind we are going to bring the cushions home. We have the room at the house. RedHorse1 I also read that thread about the table. We don't use the dinnette as a bed that often, just if the day we are going to be leaving calls for rain we will put the bed ends up the day before and hubby sleeps on the couch and I sleep on the dinette which by the way is not that comfortable and no matter which way I lay the cushions they tend to spread. We have discussed making some short of support pillar, will look into the pvc piping for sure!

sunstarsmoon, to help ensure mice cannot get into the TT; I would get some tube(s) of a marine grade clear silicone caulk and crawl under the TT. Find every penetration hole and fill it both from the bottom and if possible from the top. There are a few holes that are not very noticeable, such as in the rear curbside corner where two grounding cables come from the power converter. So look everywhere. If there is nowhere for them to get in and there is no food to eat, the mice will find a better winter home.
