We just bought our 17Z last month and love it! We just ended a 1.5 week trip to Vermont's Kingdom Trails so we could mountain bike with our friends.

We recently upgraded from a pop-up. The 17Z is so comfortable and easy to setup/breakdown that we absolutely love it.

Good luck with her!

hey casinomark, how do you find the Montana's towing capability on the 17Z? I have an 07 uplander and feel I need more power, I seem to spend 50% of the time in lower gears?

I love the idea of the OUTSIDE FOLD DOWN Bed ends. Sure doesn't take away any room inside if you get stuck somewhere and have to sleep on the couch over night..

You do hear a lot of stories on getting leaks from the pull down doors so watch all of that pretty close. Its all in how your treat those things probably...

17-feet to 24-feet is prefect size for us...

I tow my 17z with my Jeep Wrangler Unlimited (3600lbs limit) and it tows easily. If you love your vehicle a weight dist. kit with sway bars is a must have, however. Watching the Jeep come off its butt when you tighten the bars is a huge relief mentally.

I read on this board and on RV Net, to fold the tents out and wet them down thoroughly a couple times, let dry completely, and it tightens the stitching and helps avoid the leak problems. We have done this, so hopefully it will have an impact.

For us, the beauty of the tent ends is twofold; 1. It allows us to have that "out in nature" feel that we have really come to enjoy over the years, and 2. It adds considerably to the inside dimensions of the trailer. It's 17' closed up, 23 feet with both tents down. It feels quite spacious and open inside, which is really nice. Our neighbor has a 25 ft Jayco Eagle, and he was blown away when he came inside ours and said "it feels as big as mine inside."
