What color is the 12 volt ground wire on a 2003 Kiwi?

I picked this up recently and the battery was toast. I installed a new one and got a lot of sparking when I hooked up the wires. I put the white wire on positive, and the green on negative. The green wire has a 30 amp fuse in line. Can't say I've ever seen a fuse on a ground line before. Do I have them hooked up backwards?

Thanks in advance; new here by the way.

white is typically ground and black positive but any fused would be on hot not ground

You definitely had them backwards - If nothing is working after you hook the battery up correctly check the inline 30 amp fuse in the main hot line off the battery and also the reverse polarity protection on your converter.

Problem fixed

That was it all right. I switched the leads around so the white lead was on ground and the green lead was on hot. I had to force myself to put that green lead on the hot terminal, it just didn't seem right. Then I replace the 30 amp fuse just outside the battery box and I am back in business.

Thanks

Yes! My black +DC connects to green under the frame. I really thought something was very wrong the first time I crawled under.
