What does advertised length refer to?

Hi,

Does anyone know what the advertised length of the Jayco hybrids is measuring? I mean is it the total overall length when close up (back bumper to front of tongue) or is it the overall length with the beds dropped down?

I have an X18D, but it's currently in storage an hour away so I can't double check the length. According to the brochure the length is 20' 9", and I'm guessing this is the overall length (including tongue) with it closed up. I'd just like to confirm though.

I'm trying to make a pad in the back yard to park it on this weekend (so I can stop storing it an hour away!).

It should be the length from tip to tip closed up. I wouldn't trust it though if things will be tight. Someone on here can probably measure theirs to give you a exact length. Should be close though.

You will probably find some one who has that camper to measure for you , another thing are you having the city involved (permit) when installing the pad, the reason asking i ran into an issue doing the same thing when my neighbor complain, big hassle in the end with the city

Make the pad 25 feet and give yourself some wiggle room.

Definitely oversize it if possible. Size it for your next camper, not the current one.

Thanks guys. I think the consensus is that it's the overall length closed up including tongue. I'm going to make it 25' to give me some wiggle room. This is actually going to be a "temporary pad" so I'm not too worried about the next camper. I hope to be building a second garage in this area in the next couple of years and then I'll move the camper pad over behind the garage. It's not fun enough to do it once so I'd rather do it twice! Kellys what kind of pad did you put down that you needed a permit (gravel or cement)? I'm putting down gravel and I kind of took for granted that I don't need to worry about a permit or anything... hopefully you were talking for cement.

Why not build your new garage big enough to park the trailer INSIDE? Your trailer will thank you but the mice will hate you.

Mice don't let garages deter them. My Honda CRV dealer broke into laughter when he opened the hood to see why I was getting a warning light on the dash. No air....the mice had stored sunflower seed in every crevice and had a nest on the bottom of the hood.

If I could afford it to make the garage big enough for the camper I would be all for that, but that's definitely not in the budget.

As for mice, right now the place I'm storing the camper at has a big field right next to where the camper is that doesn't get mowed to often and seems the perfect place for mice. So I think I'll be making a HUGE step in the right direction for avoiding mice by just getting it out of there and into my yard (where I can liberally lay down some decon )
