''Turtling'' is using your hybrid with the bunk doors closed, usually because the weather will not allow you to setup upon arrival at a campground, or when stopping at a Walmart or rest area.

x2 what Crabby said. It sounds bad, but good safety option if you can do it while stopping at an open area (walmart, truck stop, etc).

Turtling is what a turtle does when he pulls all his soft vulnerable parts in and closes up his shell holes to protect himself. Turtling is what a hybrid travel trailer does when he pulls all his soft vulnerable parts in and closes up his shell holes to protect himself. Notice the similarities?

When camping without the girls and the dog I turtle to help keep the heat in and just sleep on the couch.

The other connotation of turtling is going slow and enjoying the trip remembering it is the trip, not the destination that is important.

Here I thought that is what one had to do If you had to go #2 and had to wait for the next rest stop.

That is too funny. In reference to the subject I would call it turtle tailing
