What type of exterior wax?

Hey all - let the newbie questions begin, lol! The guy at the dealership suggested I use a boat/marine wax instead of a car wax on the vacuum-bonded exterior.
Is he genius or uninformed? I searched the Jayco online owner's manual I didn't receive one from the dealer) and it does not state anywhere (that I could find) to use boat wax.

What do you think?

Thanks guys-

That shine is gorgeous....but my RV is brand new and already shiney and I am not sure about the possible discoloration issue noted. I do have an RV cover for my rig.
So if you HAD to use "regular" wax would it be car or boat?

I use Eagle One stuff in a trigger spray bottle. Same stuff I use on my truck. I wax my trailer every other time I wash it and I wash it after every camping trip. I believe it's more important that you wax the trailer often than what brand of wax you use.

I'm going to throw a wrench into this topic. My big concern with the exterior are the graphics as some wax can do more harm to them than good over time. Jayco only keeps graphics in stock for approx.3 years and after that they have to be custom cut which is very costly. So I had a lengthy conversation with my dealer about this topic and he said to be careful with the wax and or polish that is applied to them. His recomendation not using any wax on them that contained petrol distillates.

I've used Mothers car wax on mine for the past 6 years with no problems. I know people whos used Mop n Glo floor wax for years and swear by it. I tried it 2 years ago on an area of my trailer but it left what looks like water marks on my graphics which was probably caused by it being applied over the Mothers wax that I already had on it. I might give the mop n glo another chance this spring. It sure is easy to apply. Just wipe on with a sponge.

Good luck finding a wax with out petroleum distillates. It you know of one please share, I thought it was impossible to make a wax without them.

Also, I was too concerned about the graphics. After much debate I went for it. I had my previous TT nearly 3 years, maxed multiple times and no issues with graphics. I think not waxing them and letting the UV get to them will have a much greater affect.

My father has been camping for many years and has always used Mothers Cleaner Wax. 2 coats, one in spring, one in fall. They have gone full time now and in between the mothers he is using Turtle Wax Ice. It is a synthetic wax. He is very pleased. I am thinking that I will follow his steps on mine. It needs to be waxed here very soon.

I'll throw in Meguiars Gold Class....It's a premium Clearcoat Wax I've used for years on my TT and TV and it's approved by 3M for use on vinyl graphics for protection and restoration.
